Let's not forget how amazing Overwatch felt when it released in 2016, but this is probably in a better state than OW2 is right now and that is not bad for a recently released game. It feels amazing to play, and with some balancing it will feel even better.

Takes me back to the xbox 360 days of Halo 3, Gears of war. This is a really fun game, the ultimate coop-shooter of 2024!

This game copies a lot of ideas from other games, but at least it doesn't feel the need to AI generate slightly altered Pokemon

After just having played through pretty much every Valve game and then finnishing up this afterwards it doesn't quite manage to capture the Valve magic and polish, but it's still by fart the best fanmade recreation of a game ever made and i still highly recommend it if you want to replay Half-life, but if you can stand the old look of the original i'd highly advice playing that first, because in my opinion this remake does not capture the feeling of playing Half-life. The artstyle is too different, and the sounds are drastically changed, the ragdoll effects combined with the lack of death animations can make it hard to tell if you killed your enemy or not, especially headcrabs or other alien creatures that already lay on the floor. Some sound que's seem to be missing, and sometimes the game feels really empty and unfinished, buggy and some of the changes they put into the game made no sense. Visual quality is extremely inconsisent, sometimes you get beautiful environments where everything seems to fit in, and other times it looks worse than the original half life due to poor textures and bad lighting in some areas.

There's too many wires in the game, and repetetive simple puzzles that just feel clunky to do, especially in Interloper in Xen, the worst chapter in the game by far.

I know I have critiqued the game quite a bit in this review, but i still highly enjoyed it and I very much still recommend it... Just bare in mind that I think the original is the superior game even though the efforts they put into this remake is insane and incredible commendable. And i wish the devs a prosperous career in the game industry, I can imagine this was a pain to make so I highly support this product at the end of the day!

Btw what you did to Xen was magical, except for some parts.

I finally got around to finnishing this game for the first time in 2024, and what a great game this is even to this day! Since I was a kid I've tried Half-life at friends houses etc, and I have since then owned the game at least since 2007 or so where I have attempted to play through the game a couple of times, which ended in me getting stuck somewhere in the game and giving up.. Now after the start of the year in 2024 i suddenly got a urge to play it til the end, and i am so happy I did. I truly understand now why this game is such an important game for the entire FPS genre, every big shooter that came after it has been inspired by this game in one way or another. It's a game where every combat encounter is it's own puzzle to solve, and the game is paced really well with interesting dialogue that isn't shoved in ur face in 5 min cutscenes every 2 mins of gameplay, instead you choose how much you want to care about the story, and you have to pay attention to pick up all the pieces. The gameplay holds up really well in this game and the AI of the enemies is really impressive for it's time, the ai is still more intelligent than some games coming out today.

I recommend Half-life even in the modern age of games, and if you can't stand the dated graphics you can play the much more modern looking and feeling Black Mesa remake of HL1.

This is the best single player RPG I've ever played and it's not even close. Everything is put together masterfully with BG3. You can tell every single aspect of this game has been passionately and thorougly executed to achieve the ultimate dream CRPG! Hats off to Larian studio's for making this incredible game!

Let's talk a little about the soundtrack in this game, the quality and the implementation of the music... Like the composer of the music of BG3 himself Borislav Slavov said in an interview i saw on youtube ''A game can have a really awesome soundtrack, but completely miss on the implementation'' BG3 has both a beautiful soundtrack and a excellent implementation, I don't think I've ever heard a track feel out of place while playing this game, and it really enhances the emotion of the scene/story... The way the combat music dynamically changes up, adds and removes instruments based on what's going on is really awesome! The music will cheer you on after you score a kill that stirs the tide of the battle in your favour with a heroic and more upbeat version of the same combat song and the other way around if you are losing, incredible stuff.

It's a game where your choices really matters, and i've never seen better written characters and dialogue for a video game, and they even record significant voice lines only for 0,1% of the players to hear, and those are definitely not throw away lines. It seems nothing about BG3 was lazy, and it's the result from a incredible team working on their dream project for 6 years.

This type of game genre was definitely not my cup of tea, but my curiousity for this game kept increasing as i heard so much buzz about it and had to find out for myself what it was all about... It was all worth it pushing myself through my discomfort of not zooming through a game and skipping dialogues, i had to force myself to slow down and enjoy every action, engage with the story and it's characters. Over enough time I started to get it all, and I started to feel immersed and now it's one of the best games I've ever played.

A truly remarkable game! Faithful to DnD, and the turn-based combat is really thrilling. It feels like you're playing an amazing interactive movie while you're playing chess! Do not miss out on Baldur's gate 3 before you die.

One of the better ARPG's! Excited to see where the devs takes this game in the future. Very promising foundation.. And you can play this game without looking stuff up ;)

Highly recommend. This is the video game version of John Wick! Playing this game through for the first time in 2023, and the game holds up really well. Mindless action, click on lots of heads in slow motion and watch everyone you were supposed to protect die while you go on to fulfill your revenge even after all is lost.
