Played for 80 minutes before refunding.
Expected some sort of open-world exploration shooter.
Got a very linear experience heavy on narrative.
Beyond the mounted machine-gun set-piece, managed to experience one weapon, one enemy type, and killed like 2 enemies before I got bored. Not enough action.

Just didn't hook me.

Valve Index gun angle for pistols was misaligned. No player avatar.
Would rather play modded Fallout 4 VR.

Since PSN have seemingly reversed their stance on account requirement...

...I'm happy to say that this game is one of the best co-op shooters out there and fully recommend.

This is a broken game for me. Yes, my PC definitely is good enough.
I get past the splash-screen to an elevator with piano music, and it lets me look around for about half a second before the screen fades to black permanently, until I restart the game.

Super-(s)HO(r)T

Very little game content, even if you liked the (admittedly cool) gimmick of movement related slow-motion you will be dissapointed by the length of the main-game which takes on average 40 minutes to complete, 20 if you are skilled. The unlockable modes do give some longetivity to the title but it is essentially recycled game content. The extra modes are good if you want to be challenged, but beyond that I can't realistically see myself putting more than 5 hours in to this game (3 hours played at time of writing), and I have already replayed game modes like endless mode.

This is more of an experience than a game. Interesting for the first hour until completion, but not worth the original asking price IMHO. Wait till $5. There are very few in-game assets like textures, 2 colours to the whole game, no enemy variation, no movement, no reloading, basic enemy AI to justify the asking price. The whole game finds its strength thru its 'time-moves-when-you-do" meme and its two-colour art style, the novelty of which both wear off within the space of the short campaign.

A slo-mo action game alternative is Sairento VR, worthy of your consideration before you drop any dollar.

100+ HOURS PLAYED

Sairento VR delivers fast paced, yet strategic sword-and-gun gameplay that really allows a players individual style to shine through. Unrestricted to 'classes', players level up and can diversify in any element they wish... gunplay, swordplay, slo-mo... by placing skillpoints you can improve bullet-time duration, durability, special skills such as bullet reflection and even force-wave katana slash capabilites. The diversity of character builds is seemingly limitless with weapon and armor customisations, supported by a Diablo-esque loot grind.

It has elements of Max Payne, Super-Hot, Bullet Train, Dishonored, Red Steel, The Specialists mod from Half-Life 2. Its unique aspect is the liberal application of bullet-time as a staple of gameplay. It can be triggered without cooldown, allowing you the player to enter and exit high-speed pacing in the moment. This allows you enough time to 'design' your next combat moves and pull them off... leading to that ultimate feeling of VR badassery. This title delivers heavily on that!

And the combat moves can be combined in many creative ways, with blink movement, ninja high-jumping and user-controlled slow motion in combination with firarm and melee attacks, roomscale bullet-dodging and katana deflect results in an intense and immersive cyber-ninja experience, and with enough skill you feel like you can truely command the action in a cinematic fasion, bolstered by third-person specator cam support.

The visuals are mid-tier but servicable, the art style is appropriately japanese-cyberpunk with stage design capturing the feel of a futuristic-dystopian Neo-Tokyo style environment. RNG Epic Legendary style loot system common in RPGs is here, which keeps you hunting for that next weapon or upgrade. Character leveling slowly progresses the challenge difficulty, but brings new powers and capability, and maximum difficulty tier increases with progress, matching the enemies capabilities to yours. Difficulty settings can also be applied to limit health including my favourite "Shinobi" 1 life mode, which punishes mistakes heavily. But easier difficulties are available and thus Sairento is entertaining from beginner to god-tier.

There are numerous optional configurations for anyone not capable of enduring some of the more extreme agility moves such as wall running and backflipping, and supports 'teleport' style movement all the way up to full trackpad movement, for this reason is an excellent game to practice getting your "VR legs".

But for those who can endure the rollercoaster that is Sairento's approach to VIRTUAL MOVEMENT, my oh my... its EMPOWERMENT GAMING like I have never known. It oozes gameplay possibilities!

Its....

Its a tornado. Its a ballet of death. Its a symphony of lightning-flash sword slices with a percussion of ricocheting bullets. Words cannot do it justice. No-one can be told what The Matrix is.

This for me can be easily stated as the CURRENT PINNACLE OF ACTION GAMING. It beats any single-player action gaming experience I have encountered. When you hit that flow-state. When you enter the twighlight zone of concentration, absolute magic happens.

The bravery of the development team cannot be understated, to begin on a game that in year one of mainstream VR, when trackpad movement was controversial due to sickness. To attempt to throw ontop a complete ninja moveset consisting of high speed ground and aerial transitions, support for twisting back-flips and side-flips, wall running, dash sliding... Its a complete ninja moveset with no holds barred. This game took a risk, and it paid off. Virtual Ninja Gaiden and much more.

It is my FIRST TO RECOMMEND GAME for anyone new to VR and interested in action gaming. If you ever get a chance to play it in the HMD you'll know its the real deal. Or you can trust me with 125 hours gaming experience!

TLDR
Best ninja action gaming experience in existence bar none.

Good Job Swag.

The game has been out for about 9 hours and I spent about 8 hours playing it. Thats after a days work too. While I'm tempted to leave the review there as a "NUFF SAID" review, I'll go on to say the following.

Its probably the most polished action game for the VIVE currently. The controls are slick, the graphics are sweet and the atmosphere is ceirtainly present in the earlier darker levels. As an early access title I do not regret buying and would reccomend to anyone who... likes guns/swords/sci-fi... likes to burn calories, and likes to soak their vive foam in films of their own sweat regularly...

... serious though, if you were thinking about buying a gym membership, just buy this instead, you will have a more interesting engaging experience. My arms ache, my legs ache and I have no regrets. The nature of this game lends itself to moderate exhertion to play well, and if you game for long periods you WILL get fit, (more than likely without realising it) as a byproduct of being involved in this dance of death, ducking and dodging, spinning round to take on multiple enemies.... hell after some stages you realise you've wasted over 100 enemies. But its not just the physical activity that will bring your heartrate up... some of those robots are downright scary on first encounter. The game does a good job on atmosphere.

This will undoubtebly be one of my favourite VIVE games for a long time to come. Unlockable skill grind, multiplayer, dual weilding pistols, swords, multiple hero classes... I'm just a little gutted I have to sleep now, instead of continuing to play this game...

10/10 would regret sleeping again

Insanely addictive strategic building game, nostalgic C&C like graphics. Would reccomend for anyone who likes old-school strategy games and logistic-building games (Starcraft merged with TransportTycoon) as it marries the best of both together in a unique title.

Addictive - High gameplay hours and replayability.
Macro - Havent yet found any sort of build limit, map limit or enemy limit. Its all as endless as you would like it to be.
Research and Character Progression - Upgrades for buildings armor and weapons.
Building - Intuitive, easy to build logistics systems allowing for practically limitless creative solutions.
PvE - Constantly respawning, multiplying and evolving enemy alien colonies keep the game challenging.
Pollution - The more you pollute the local atmosphere, the more it upsets the locals.
Vehicles - Go cruising the infinite world in cars or tanks after creating your stronghold.
Multiplayer - Can connect over 60000 players to a single multiplayer game.

If you are interested enough to like what you saw of the gameplay and graphics style in the preview video, just buy it, you probably will not regret it!
