This game should go back, back to what it was just as they added the megabots, though some say right before I feel megabots release was it, massive battles against a massive robot(s) and actually competitive and creative no-meta combat with regular robots and a rewarding way to unlock/build your robots.... now its just dumpsterfire, I say THIS game is a free game, but I would pay for what it was before to come back.

the 3k fps issue & crashes in cut-scenes, poor npc routing and texture/object bugs despite being able to run the game at 120 fps at a 80% load, feels incompetent to expectations given by gameplay previously seen/expectations of development and bug fixes expected

This is just Pirates Caribbean Hunt (free) but for $40. Compare the two, and its like they copy pasted everything.

Early Access Review
Starting out, I've got to mention I've been with the game since the beginning. This will be an honest review.
Unlimited potential.
The most controversial server(s) started up by some people, with actual hardware to run on the scale planned brought what should be plain after 100 hrs of playtime should be evident.
There is no one playstyle. but that does not just pertain to ships, that's servers as well. The best servers that were created in my opinion dared to change how starmade is actually played.
You see, there are people in starmade who want a slow, planned crawl to the top, grand strategy, space wars, not just battles, or even fights. Then there are those who would rather jump into the game, play for about 5 min, and have the resources to build a freighter.
Starmade has the resources and mold-ability to have that, and more, all in one server, there is only the planning and molding to be done. This might be common knowledge, but astroid size, quantity, richness, and respawn are all changeable. But that's not all, almost everything is moldable, it just takes a bit of work, and knowhow. Combining all of the things that can be changed in the game, any scenario is craftable. (quite like ARMA)
Servers could be set up to where you spawn in, pick a faction, respawn and then jump in a battleship and head to the front lines, for example.
Or 8 min buildup in creative, no blues, and then a fight takes place (been done i know).
A server could be created, in which, every playstyle is present, quick, one off battles (without repercussion)? Roleplay? Grand Strategy? Yes, very possible.
Simply by bending starmade into shape, which takes a bit of doing to get stuff done. Which there were people going there, on multiple occasions, but stopped due to narrow eyes.

Wait times atrocious, if and when you get into any game mode... which of there are too many for the playerbase its already 70% or more over, good luck unlocking weapons, ♥♥♥♥ just play day of imfamy you'll probably spend the same amount of money, less even. 7/10 on the idea of the game 5/10 actual game (aside from the steep climb, pay to win nature) 0/10 the delivery of the game to the new player. and 2/10 the game as it is now. NO battle, fight or anything ha left me satisfied, or saying "whoa that game was good, and worth the 5 ish minute waittime.

Yea ive palyed for 5 hr, but thats more than enough to get the gist, nature, or whatever you what to call it of this game.
