To be fair, you have to have a very strong relationship with God to understand Veggie Tales. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theological fundamentals, most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Bob's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from the Doubting Thomas narrative, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the spiritual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about the AFTERLIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Veggie Tales truly ARE heathens- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Bob's existential catchphrase “I'm a tomato, and I'm here to help you,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Paul's Roman epic Ephesians.
