Incredibly designed game, mediocre ending, but worth a play nonetheless

**Does not include major spoilers**

The creativity and love that went into development of this game is clear; the atmosphere, beauty and 'geeking out' about certain topics are what makes this game. The town is charming and immersive, and walking around town talking to the inhabitants is amazing. The UI as a whole is beautiful, from the color highlighting to the social media pages. There are multiple replayable arcade games within the game, with highscores to beat if that's your thing. At one point the entire game even briefly turns into a 2D Pokemon-Esque RPG seamlessly; even as someone who doesn't enjoy that kind of format, couldn't help but chuckle how well it was integrated within a story-driven game.

I'm a huge fan of the original LiS and also played through BtS. Couldn't get into LiS2, mostly since the premise seemed to be caring for the little brother who I thought was annoying and unlovable.

Through the first 4 episodes, both from a story and overall experience perspective, this game outclasses the original. Nearly everything is well polished, and much of the cringe lines from the original are gone. Similar to the original LiS, the atmosphere builds up from a lighter, carefree vibe into a progressively darker and gritty later stages. Without spoiling anything, I think episode 5 was a big let down from a writing perspective, and failed to tie the game to a satisfying ending like the first LiS did so beautifully. Some common-sense concepts stopped making sense, comparable to later seasons of Westworld or Game of Thrones.

Nonetheless, the overall experience was positive, and if you can afford the fairly steep price tag for a game that will take ~10 hours if you play at my pace, would certainly reccomend.

Looks and plays like Telltale's games, but story is written a lot better. A lot.
