Part card game, part rouge game, Slay The Spire is excellent. You really have to play it to truly appreciate it. This is on my "Every Gamer Must Own This" list.

Cute, colorful, relaxing (at first!), and totally addictive. If you enjoy pinball, you'll love this. If you love the challenge of a rogue-like, dungeon crawler, you'll love this. Either way you roll, it keeps you coming back.

As a pinball, I want to keep feeding it my virtual quarters to get that higher score. It's one of those games when I lose, I keep swearing, "just one more time, just one more time," until I look at the clock and it's past midnight.

As the dungeon crawler, I have enemies to beat and skills to achieve to expertly beat up those enemies as I strategize the best ways to do that. I don't have the lives to waste.

Not only do I get to make my way through the towers, but I have more to unlock at higher levels as well as daily dungeons to challenge me.

I've read a couple people saying that the story mode part is too short rather than taking all it's elements as a whole into consideration. Keep in mind that when you play a pinball machine over and over, always trying to beat not only your previous high score but also other players, you are playing the same play field over and over again. It doesn't change. At it's base, how it this any different? But we all still enjoy those machines that warm our hearts. Right?

As I said, it's a highly addictive game, just as much as the pinball and arcade machines of the 80s were. I can't get enough and it's such a simple concept. That's the way the best games are: simple and addictive as heck.

Early Access Review
I'm not shocked at all that at the time of this writing, Dinkum has already gotten overwhelmingly positive reviews. And it's still early access and created by a single developer! As a fan of Animal Crossing New Horizons, this is right up my alley. Build, farm, cook, meet new people, buy, sell, create, mine, and battle. Single player is really fun and can't wait to go multiplayer with some friends. This Australian Outback based game has a lot of everything and it just keeps getting better. Highly recommended! FYI, I'm streaming it on YouTube at youtube.com/oldnerdreviewstoo ;)

I love tower defense games and this is one of the must-haves if you like those sort also. Get all three in the series. You can never have to much fun killing nasty orcs!

Good game for anyone who enjoys Warcraft and/or Starcraft. Graphics are fine and it's very easy to pick it up. As I said, if you played Warcraft, it's old hat. Plus, dinosaurs!

I'm a huge fan of the older game, Freelancer. When I spotted Everspace, it gave me that Freelancer vibe. Then I played it and, although the graphics are lovely, the game-play gets to be a rinse and repeat after a bit. Everything else is good, but the game-play is always going to be where I draw a hard line. It's close to a rogue crawler in the sense that, unless you're a hotshot pilot, you're going to be almost starting over a lot. I really wanted to love it but I just can't. It may be for some people, just not for me.

So a fun 3D adventure game! Doesn't take a ton of talent to play it which makes it enjoyable for all ages. Colorful and cute, with goofy character.

I'm presently 22 hrs in and only 5% finished with the game. I am having too much fun killing orcs right now to care much about the main story-line! If you enjoy Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, and the Arkham series, THIS game will be right up your alley! I'm truly having a blast! Graphics, voice-acting, soundtrack, the amazing Nemesis system, and AI (if you don't kill the higher-ups, they WILL make it their mission to hunt you down!) are all amazing. I'm really looking forward to what Shadow Of War has to offer. Right now, I'm just plain having fun with this one. ;)

Never could I have imagined myself giving anything but a stellar review for anything in the Bioshock franchise....and then there is this. I loved Bioshock Infinite's core game, but this is buggy as hell! Where was QA? Elizabeth constantly blocking my way, she gets stuck behind open doors, doors refusing to open (the locks just sit and spin) and the previous one now locked, so no way out.... I've had to restart from previous saves numerous times now because of all this. Cannot recommend.
