SO after my last review nothing has changed so now I sadly have to swap my review to a downvote. The servers are empty now. The bugs are still rampant. BUT HEY we got new skins! Because we prefer cosmetics over a working game right? I loved Gigantic and if the devs aren't going to actually fix it then all I can say is Rest In Peace.

Where do I start with this game. First off this games graphics are just phenomenal! Absolutely beautiful environments and it's all just one backyard! The longer I played the more I would section off each area as a different Biome and the more I got into the game. Exploration is heavily rewarded with the upgrades you can get or the REALLY hidden recipes and materials you can find. Some of the recipes you obtain throughout the game can also help you better explore certain areas as well. Now the combat system. At first I didn't like it, but the more I played the more intuitive it felt and the more I got into it. block at the right time and you nullify all damage (parry). If you have a shield you can block most damage until you run out of stamina or they knock you off balance (you get stunned in this case). You hit enemies in the head with a blunt weapon chances are you will stun them (same goes if you parry certain enemies). Then you got all sorts of healing items as well as weapons that can inflict different status effects. You can also use your weird hand scope power to see what enemies are weak against as well as strong against. Using this I ended up always having a different weapon type to handle each enemy. Now mutations, something I love the most in this game, this mechanic passively rewards you with a free skill the more you do something specific. Sprint more, you get more stamina and can sprint faster, use a two handed weapon, get the barbarian mutation where you can go crazy with two handed weapons, use daggers a lot, get a buff to where daggers will bleed enemies, etc, etc. You are very limited at first on which mutations you can have selected at first, but the further you get In the game, the more you can have! There is also plenty of enemy types and each enemy makes sense for its environment (will say wolf spiders are annoyingly abundant). Progression is actually pretty smooth and if your experienced can be pretty quick. Base building within the game is both fun and incredibly creative, also placement isn't annoyingly specific like in some games where you can build. Also with the cozy meter mechanic the game promotes players to be creative with their base building which I absolutely adore. The Game like most sandboxes also has a creative mode in case you just wanna build massive creations without having to gather the supplies. But it also has the Sandbox mode, where you can make the backyard however you want, making the base progression how you want it, or creative alternate stories or gamemodes. Another one of my favorite things of this game is the multiplayer and how they handled it. If you wanted to play the game with a few friends then you can set the game to be a cloud server. In doing so anyone who loads the save through the multiplayer menu, becomes the host until they leave. This allows your friends to join the server at anytime without needing to wait on someone to specifically host the game!

I will say the major downside is when you first get the game you to play online you NEED to have or make a Microsoft account which for me to just retrieve my password was an absolute pain in the a**. However the trouble was worth it to play the game with my family :3.

In all honesty if you are looking for a fun survival game whether it be to play alone or with a few friends I highly suggest this game.

Early Access Review
Played for free on Xbox Gamepass and after spending a few hours on it bought it here on steam to show support. This game is absolutely fun! The amount of things to unlock, the rogue like aspects, the variety of builds you can create, and the secrets to discover all for $3. I suggest anyone to give this game a shot. Every update I shall 100% the achievements!

I love this game, its pretty ridiculous and fun if not slightly unbalanced however the issue for this game lies on the fact that its pretty much dead. You may be able to revive a server if you get 2 friends to join you in a lobby and wait for people to notice but otherwise the remaining 3 servers in the game are all empty. Wish this game would come back to life or make a sequel was fun when servers had 20 or more players (super hectic too) especially with the goat slinging raptors and micro raptor assaults. But until this game either revives i cannot recommend it.

This game was great. Was. But now it is just a husk of its former self, servers are down so the game is unplayable and i don't see anything coming up that would even hint that this game would be revived in the future. If servers go up i would say get it. otherwise don't bother with it. TBH if the game isn't going to be fixed it should be removed from steam. If you want a game that is both fun and free that shares some of the aspects this game had i would recommend checking out light bearers as it is similar to this game only more cutesy and funny.

This game is spectacular and knows these devs it isn't taken seriously making the game even better! Any weapon can have any attachment (can put a silencer on a rocketlauncher) theres a massive variety of weapons and huge variety of bombs to throw out and mess with your opponents! My friends threw a cage nade at me trapped me and i could only watch as the wall smashed me into the ground. Speaking of the wall, this monster of a wall adds a whole new way to feel tense in a battle royal! Seeing that pillar fly over your head to the circle then dropping down and extending to other pillars makes you feel like you have to hurry the hell up to make it or your getting locked out and losing the match! The way you deploy in this game is also hilarious! Fortnite: you get dropped of a bus and use a glider to get to the objective, pubga: you use a plane get to where you wanna go and then use a parachute to land, TAB : you use the cluster trucks to get where you wanna go then rocket yourself into the area you want to go smashing face first into the ground. This battle royal is honestly my favorite because of the fact that it doesn't take itself seriously! Its about the derpyness that the rest of the games this dev has made and i would highly reccomend anyone to try it out :D

I played this for quite some time now and theres potential but sadly too many mistakes. First of all why is there no cheat protection, i recently found out people can just crash you by using cheat engine turning the gamespeed dial to 0.001 and than just wait the oppenent out and it will crash them. Second why are some of these campaigns stacked up to make you fail, some of the decks you get are just purely awful and require your oppenent to get and awful hand and you to get a perfect hand. Third, SO many bugs, daily crashes, game spazzes, and in one of the story lines the final boss cheats its own battle making it nearly impossible! For anyone curious on this subject it is the battle against ulamog, the battle says that Ulamog cannot draw cards but will get a waste every turn yet Ulamog happily draws cards and wins because of it i still havn't won the fight because of this. Fourth, why is it that boosters in this game give 6 cards when in real life you get 15, i wouldn't mind this if it was easier to farm these packs but they cost so much, if your a hardcore farmer you might get 1-2 a day which is just an awful system they have going. Fifth, why can you only have 1 of each mythic, ruins a bunch of set ups that people need for their decks why couldn't they have a set up like Yu-gi-oh duel links where each set has a limited amount of cards and when you get the cards you want you could reset the whole set allowing yourself the oppertuntiy of getting those cards again! Overall this game needs to be fixed badly, the game is fun but only when you finally after a long time of farming get the deck you want, i havn't tried two headed giant but its rumored that even that has major problems so please Wizards of the coast, fix your ♥♥♥♥, and don't pull a LJN.

If i see that these changes have been made ill change this review!
