Satisfying Metroidvania with fun but familiar gameplay mechanics and a decent levelling-up system loop incorporated for the three characters you control. There's room for improvement in certain aspects but I was compelled to 100% the larger than expected map, and see everything through to completion.

Highly recommended for anyone considering replacing one of their arms with a grappling hook.

Failing that, the story and dynamic gameplay should keep you hooked the whole way regardless.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this particular port of Little King's Story, despite the efforts put in previously to bring it up to a workable state. The game itself is super charming and I would love to continue playing, but I have been hit by the recurring 'game fails to load save' glitch wherein you are hit with a black screen upon hitting 'Continue' at the main menu.

The negative review does not reflect the game itself, just this particular port of it, as a warning to other potential buyers.

A real bummer!

Atmospheric 2D action platformer that rewards diligence in every sense. Tight gameplay, darkly charming visuals and a brilliant, emotive soundtrack composed by Christopher Larkin. BUY IT BABY.
