Early Access Review
This game was put on my radar because it's Dreamhaven's first published game.

Hades x Animal Corssing is probably the best description for this game, it blends a roguelite with building your own village.

First off let me list what I like:
  • Combat is fun
  • Weapon types all play and feel noticeably varied
  • Story is fun
  • Native 32:9 support
  • Controller support

For an early access title it already feels quite polished for the most part, yet there are some things that I found very counter intuitive key/button mapping wise.

Some things I dislike:
  • No steam achievements
  • The controller mapping can be improved
  • Launched with DLC that costs almost 50% of the base game

I'll test this game on my steam deck aswell and update this review later

Notes to the devs:
The controller mapping is kind of counter intuitive, I feel like it would play much better if you went with a twin stick shooter type of mapping, the right stick currently zooms in and out when it would be much better if it controlled the direction the character is facing. This makes it so that currently you can't walk in one direction while throwing the hook to the other direction, even though that is possible with KB+M.

The esc button should close out of all menues, currently if you're on the map and press esc the pause menu opens and when you press esc again the map is gone. However if you're in the build menu the esc button does nothing at all. In my opinion the esc button should act as the 'back' button (currently X which also feels weird) and when you are on the highest layer of a sub menu it should close out of any sub menu you are in (shop menu, map, building menu, loadout menu etc.). It should also only open the pause menu when you are currently not in any sub menues.

When talking to an NPC you can quit out of the talking menu with X but not with esc when you can for some reason quit out of the shop menu with either esc or X. This I explained in the other point already, but this just further hits home that currently there isn't really any consistency in that behaviour.

Really enjoyable so far, I get around 60fps with a 4080s on 5120x1440 on the highest settings.
No native 32:9 support, but it's fixable with hex editing and UUU (there's a guide in the forum on that)

Step 1: Mute in-game music
Step 2: Blast Touhou OST
Step 3: Profit
This game is very fun. Also supports 32:9 natively

Hell yeah this game is amazing. Finally a singleplayer focused Gundam game on steam with action focused combat that's actually pretty good. Get it on sale for 50+% off and you're getting a great deal here. The grind is honestly not even as bad as other reviews make it out to be here.
Combat is fluid but of course can't reach AC6 levels of fun, but honestly for a SD Gundam game it's fine.
The amount of gundam available is good imo but the story dragged on a bit starting from chapter 6.

Of course I would prefer a "normal" Gundam game with combat like AC6 and a customization level of what mass builder offers, but I live in the real world and know that Bandai and Sotsu Sunrise hate us, so I take any small W on offer, and this is definetly a small W.

Didn't have any server problems yet, been playing 3 hours straight and it's fun

Edit: 10 hours now, had 2 disconnects that didn't impact me in any way (both happened after a match in the main menu) and it's still fun

Edit 2: 25h now, it's a shame that ranked in EU is not working, but it's still a very enjoyable game. I have not had any disconnect issues apart from the 2 mentioned before, and some people here are flat out spreading lies.... You can unlock Gundams as f2p, just gotta level the season pass and complete the beginner challenges...

Took me about 10h to get all achievements, it's a fun game, but very pricy.

Going by all the Naruto games you're gonna be able to buy it for like 5$ in a sale in a few years, that's the perfect time to get it
