Incredibly detailed atmosphere. Wish I had used my stockpile of guns and ammo more often, fell into the trap of "I'll save it for a more difficult fight." Turns out all the difficult fights are in dream sequences where your inventory is removed. Didn't seem like there was much of a point scavenging the whole time if you're never really tested. More horror than survival, so usually the game builds a facade of fear with spooky noises, instead of any real threat. The story gives no answers and spending extra time searching through the context clues provides only a vague understanding to piece together the strange plot. Worth a playthrough of this odd polish game.

Very unstable mess. Constant freezes, desyncing, awful npc pathing, and many bugs requiring restarts. If you can be patient with it, when it runs properly it's a fantastic experience. Combat is smooth, melee feels weighty and has impact. While the story felt shorter than the last, there is a lot more end game content. Glad it stayed in the same location, picking up where you left off in chapter 1 with all your progress transferred over. Worth a play even after such a negative launch.

Story wise, I think this one is a step up from Fallen Order. Really enjoyed expanding on Cal and Merrin's relationship, something I was left wanting to see more of from the previous game. The intro set piece on Coruscant is a strong starting point and gives a reason for Cal to go looking for his original crew.

The pacing begins to suffer shortly after on Koboh. I never felt a reason to explore the uninteresting planet and wanted to get the story moving quickly, especially after seeing 90% of the prospectors are tough racially diverse women. This was my feeling throughout the game, as you are forced back to Koboh multiple times. Although I did expect the twist near the end once or twice early on, it was still a pleasant surprise.

The game is far less stable than Fallen Order, definitely very demanding, while not looking much better than the last. Crashed several times and a few bugs requiring a restart. The various lightsaber stances were fun to experiment with, but felt limited, as you only have so many skill points to invest into each stance skill tree. You can reset skill points for cost (the first reset being free), so it left me sticking with what I already invested in.

Overall decent adventure game (albeit a few woke lgbt themes), with cool characters that I'll be looking to see again in a future installment.

A janky mess filled with bugs and several crashes, boring gameplay, and a weak predictable story filled with woke themes. Still an enjoyable ride, it's at its best when dealing with hordes, frantically running through buildings and utilizing traps and weapons. The first act by its self is worth a buy.

Early Access Review
Like the first Xenonauts, just a little more woke. Much more intuitive and the QOL changes will make it more appealing to noobs. The mission variety is a massive plus compared to the original, putting the player in situations where you'll have to be thoughtful of mission prep and frequently use utility and weapons in different ways. Missing caesans and soldier's previous military history though. Hopefully soldier backgrounds will be expanded upon. Soldier bonds and managing stress or disapproval could make for fun additions.

More of what I enjoyed with Ion Fury. The rotorcycle was short lived, but was fun while it lasted. Didn't care much for the new grenade launcher ammo types, the homewrecker was cool though. Level design was great once again and secrets feel very well hidden, even more so this time around. Arrange mode, a mirrored version of the original campaign is a nice bonus to keep it fresh and keep me coming back. Loved the new difficulty even if it was a pain in the ass and makes Arrange feel unbearable at times. Makes for some very desperate gameplay deciding when and which enemies to gib. Valerie Arem is goated. Great expansion, will be a blast achievement hunting.
