Another fantastic story that continues to build on not just the fascinating world and reality of the Golden Idol, but the depth and innovation of the cases and their mechanics. Couldn't stop doing one more scenario until it was over. And with the DLC potentially working out to an entire other game in the end, I'm just glad there's still more to look forward to in this fantastic series for at least many months to come.

Early Access Review
Spend 10 minutes prepping/gearing up for an expedition to destroy a nest of terrible beasties outside the sub. Turn off the reactor before you leave to save your uncomfortably low fuel/not attract as much attention while you're gone. Neglect to consider that the water flooding into the airlock will completely wreck your boat's carefully-balanced buoyancy. Swim out into the inky depths with determination, come back barely alive to realize the sub's disappeared into the inky depths. Whoops.

Head out on a simple explosives delivery mission. Lose a crewman in a low threat encounter with a few pretty wimpy creatures due to gross incompetence. Continue on and spot a massive moving blob on your sonar, carefully attempt to sneak past what's no doubt a horrible monster from your darkest nightmares. Think you've just barely made it, only for your just-respawned crewmate to lead the beast right to you with their respawn shuttle. Get pummelled mercilessly by said beast, find yourself stuck on the sea floor in a leaking, battered tin can with severe blunt force trauma and about 2 minutes of fuel left for your reactor. Spend your remaining few minutes on Europa finding a way to go out with dignity: borrow some C4 from your explosive shipment and wire it straight to the last bit of power left in the backup batteries, and blow yourself straight from hell.

Cool game. Still plenty of room to grow and improve; as ever, bots are arguably a fair bit better than people give them credit for but still have a lot of issues to be sorted before a single player campaign can really be what it should. Updates seem regular and often quite substantial. Sub and entity editing appears to be powerful, allowing for all kinds of crazy custom boats. Plus, much of the code itself is open-source; if you find an issue that's really bugging you, you can help track down the bug yourself, which is pretty neat.

It's a masterpiece, and I'm man enough to admit I still close my eyes and take off my headphones when I go through the [REDACTED] because why do I have to get so close?!?!

A true remake/re-imagining of a classic to a degree rarely seen, that manages to be both faithful to the original while updating and improving it nigh-perfectly for modern gameplay. Not to mention some great nods to and acknowledgement of some of the more ridiculous elements of the original design in a delightful, winking tongue-in-cheek way. The sewer development company CEO just reaaaaally likes chess!

This is absolutely one of the best things I've ever done. I might write more about it but probably not. It's just incredible is all.

A fantastic tale of unceasing robot war backed up by satisfying combat, reclaimed beauty, a healthy disregard for the 4th wall, boar rides, alternate viewpoints, chronically depressed robots, a soundtrack so good it should have taken until humanity's near-extinction to come together, morals and ethics and carnal forbearance, compensated debugging, dual-stick hacking, putting the phun in philosophical reconceptualization, Kainé: Salvation, and they even found a way to stuff Emil in there.

Why, just the number of endings you get for your money makes this a bargain, including one so devastatingly uplifting I'm still not ready to let it go.

It's a few hours, it's a linear story, it's got an interesting inverse-"Eternal Sunshine" premise going, and then you find out what the rabbits mean and it absolutely destroys you for a while. Then you write a review about it a few years later and it destroys you again.

Took the already fantastic firefights from the original, added a ton more depth and ways to play every job, and just keeps getting better and better. Also, watching a new player blow up the meth lab never gets old.

I didn't expect much from this one, but it turned out to have some of the best, most intense firefights of anything I've played in a long while.
