This game has a lot of problems, a key one being how slow the updates are, but the core gameplay loop of the tide games might be one of the best out there. Very little feels completely unfair, with enough skill the vast majority of matches can be solo carried on the hardest non modded difficulty. Great game, wish they would stop releasing updates for Vermintide 2 (another great game) and focus on this more.

The game is great but gets repetitive fast, look out for the sequel when it releases.

This game is great but I would not recommend it. If you still wish to play it make sure you have some ADHD medication on hand (legally or illegally acquired) and read up on the Fifth City wikia so you can comprehend the plot. Without the ADHD medication the gameplay will bore you to death and will give the same entertainment as watching paint dry. Without the wiki lore you'll have absolutely no idea what is going on, which defeats the entire point of the game which is the narrative. Other than that I don't see much reason for the punishing death, other than to increase the grind to insane levels, so play merciful mode to avoid having to repeat the same quests repeatedly.

Great proof of concept and I really like the direction of the story, some strong Afro Samurai vibes in it. Hopefully they can improve the gameplay as it is by far the weakest part of the game. Usually just ends up you flailing a sword wildly as you repeat a part over and over again, and the AI is god awful. Looking forward to seeing what they do next and what an excellent idea it was to have the first part be a F2P product.

Worst Dark souls game, but personally I enjoy more than 3.
