A (mostly) spoiler free review of Life is Strange: True Colors

A marvel of empathetic storytelling, an indescribably loveable protagonist ( just ask Steph ), an emotional journey of joy, sorrow, grief and forgiveness in an utterly gorgeous setting. Not just a return to form but an utter eclipse of anything that came before it.

In short, a masterpiece for anyone that enjoys a good story and feeling everything and anything the protagonist does... so, just about every single thing there is to feel!

The most soothing game I've ever played. ConcernedApe is a marvel of humanity and his game one of entertainment. It has a stellar soundtrack to boot!

What can I even say about this game...

Would I recommend this game? Yes. To every person that has a bit of money to spend on a singleplayer experience, wholeheartedly. Where to begin... This game is stunningly beautiful. Every screen is a highly stylized painting, the enemy types, villains and most of all the main character are unique and if that wasn't enough, some scenes in the game are underlined with actual pieces of art like you might find in a concept art book accompanying a premium steel case release.

The story is exciting, haunting and emotional, despite the character being a (mostly) silent protagonist. Mostly, because besides a few text inputs written by her, she sings (and hums) many of the songs and melodies featured throughout the game. In fact, her incredible voice is deeply interwoven with the story at large. And not to disappoint, this game's soundtrack is stellar. It sets the mood, it pulls you in and you'll be enveloped by it until the second credits roll.

As for the gameplay, it's slow to start but once you grasp its intricacies, few things are as satisfying. It meshes the turn-planning of xcom with the enemy-engaging found in games like Monaco while adding a unique spin to it like nothing I have seen before. In addition, the game allows for incredibly in-depth customization of skills, allowing you to use each skill in a variety of ways and modify them using other abilities. Whether you prefer to homebrew your own or search for the most efficient and synergy-abusing ones found in the steam guides, when you pull off your intended playstyle it always feels good.

On top of this, the game brings with it a fully customisable set of difficulty options called Limiters unlocked throughout the gradual level-up process alongside skills and character upgrades. When in use, they increase the experience gain in turn for such things as more enemies to contend with, protective barriers that allow those enemies to respawn more easily and many more. While some steam achievements are tied to this, the game is otherwise fully completeable without ever using them, if you prefer having a more relaxed experience.

So, with a great story, replayability through it's exceptional version of NG+, satisfying gameplay, a killer soundtrack and stunning visuals... What are you waiting for! Buy Transistor, you won't regret it!

Finally, I'd like to thank the person that introduced me to this game.

Rest in peace TotalBiscuit.

My mind's telling me no.

But my body... My body's telling me yeeeeesss!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This game had a lot of potential. The genre it popularized is still going strong, and with Triple A BR games on the horizon, PUBG won't be able to keep up. This game has a grittier, more realistic and, in my opinion, skill based enviroment than Fortnite. However, it is plagued by a huge slew of problems that make it a pain to play, and frustrating to top it off.

If you want your BR fix, wait for a Triple A studio to do it right. I've gotten more than my money's worth from this game, hours and hours of fun with friends and a odd chicken dinner here or there. But I cannot say with just cause, that this game is likely to ever fix its issues.

Your money's better off being spent on a deserving, full released Indie SP game, or being saved for the next 15 steam sale games you'll buy and never play.

My mind was right and my body is now in tune with it.

One of the best and easily the most emotional and wonderful experiences you can have when playing a video game. Truly a masterpiece.

First of all, I love both LEGO and most TT games (especially the STAR WARS games) and I grew up with Harry Potter.
Storywise, there is some really good, typical, visual humor and the Story is of course amazing, if you enjoy Harry Potter.

The big deal with this game is however, that the raw gameplay is fantastic. Of course, you have to own a controller, because the game is, in my opinion, unplayable without one. But if you`ve got that figured out, there is nothing between you and an amazing game.

It brings together two of my favourite game genres, Open World Exploration and "Collect `em all" type games, similar to most other LEGO games. However, the levels are enjoyable, the cutscenes wonderful and TT manages to get me through Sirius`s death scene without crying, so that is definitly an accomplishment on their part!

I have 100% this game twice(if you are stuck somewhere, feel free to add me ;) ) and I can still lean back and have a good time. Of course, LEGO games have always been family oriented, but if you pick up a friend that enjoys Harry Potter too, you can have a great time no matter your age.

Finally, I`d like to add, that this is a very relaxing game to play, even if you aren`t a Harry Potter fan, and who knows, maybe you`ll even read the books or watch the movies after the game caught your eye. Have a wonderful time playing, if you are on this page already, you might aswell buy it (IF YOU HAVE A CONTROLLER!) :)
