Ni no Kuni is an absolutely adorable JRPG that I can wholeheartedly recommend and it's one I will definitely replay at some point myself.

I feel like the main attraction here is the look and sound of the game. The soundtrack is stellar and can be easily enjoyed even on its own. The Studio Ghibli animated cutscenes are incredibly charming and the art style translates into 3D really well. Each location is creative and the environments are breathtaking.

The story, although not particularly deep, managed to squeeze some tears out of me and elicit a lot of laughs. The translation takes massive liberties but it ultimately adds to the fun and whimsical atmosphere. The characters and NPCs are fun to talk to so you don't get bored at any point.

The difficulty is the main drawback - there's only easy and normal and it shows. It's not a title that provides you with a lot of challenge and the battles are a grindfest. I do feel like this is offset by the familiar leveling/evolving mechanics as collecting and evolving them is a massive motivator to engage with the mobs and take the time to level up.

Another plus is the extensive post-game content that still provides a lot of new things to do and discover - I'm keeping this vague not to spoil anything.

Finally, my biggest complaint would be that the game allows you to select an ultrawide (it's important to note we're not talking about widescreen here) resolution but the game itself has massive thick bars on the sides which looks ugly. This can be fixed with a 3rd party tool which I did, however, for obvious reasons, it doesn't affect the animated cutscenes.

Having said that, ultrawide resolutions are definitely not common so I don't feel like it will be a deciding factor for most and this can be fixed if necessary.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed Ni no Kuni and I feel like it's a safe choice for any JRPG beginners.

The Overwhelmingly Positive score speaks for itself, however, I’ve enjoyed this game so much that I feel compelled to add my own few cents as well.

Stardew Valley is an incredibly relaxing farming game with a solid replay value. There's lots of things to do, so you will not be getting bored anytime soon, especially with the regular (at times major) updates. The character customization is pretty decent and you have a lot of room for creativity when it comes to designing your farm and livable spaces. There is a very cozy ambience thanks to the beautiful pixel graphics as well as sound design/soundtrack.

The plot is not necessarily groundbreaking but you're still in for a few surprises. The characters are diverse and interesting, motivating you to work on your in-game relationships, both romantic and otherwise.

Although the game is fine as-is, it is also very easily moddable, with an impressive selection of improvements, and even fan-made content expansions. This will help you work out any kinks, should you have any during your playthrough.

I've invested a ton of time in this game and I do not regret a single hour - it's the video game equivalent of comfort food and it's guaranteed to make you feel better.

Slime Rancher is a ridiculously cute and relaxing game. Your mission is to capture adorable slimes, feed them and harvest their plorts which you can exchange for money. The poop based economy is just one of the highlights.

There is a lot to explore and the environments are quite diverse, as are the slimes that inhabitate them. The ranch itself has a ton of possible upgrades and customization. You can have your own chicken coop and gardens! Not to mention having your own jetpack which makes things even more fun.

On top of that, the bits of the story sprinkled in-between, and the other characters you enounter, are written in a funny and creative way. It never gets too overwhelming and you are always just intrigued enough.

If you're feeling blue, don't hesitate to pick this game up and hop on board the De-stress Express!

I wholeheartedly recommend this game. The environments are breathtaking, the music is beautiful and the puzzles are fun but the story, and the way it's told, is the main selling point in my opinion. 10/10 would ugly cry again.

The game has no actual dialogue and yet it managed to get me to care about the characters and become really invested in their struggles through visual storytelling and quite interesting use of gameplay mechanics. I feel like it's best experienced with a controller.

It's relatively short but it's worth every penny, especially if you can snag it during a sale.

I loved Don't Starve for its creepy-cute easthetic and for it's addictive gameplay - trying to survive and learning from your mistakes felt fun even if it could get frustrating at times. Don't Starve Together has all of the charm of it's single player counterpart, with the added bonus of being able to blame every failure on others!

On a more serious note, I do believe that the game is definitely worth the price as playing with others allows for even more map exploration and for bolder tactics. Much like Don't Starve, the game supports the use of mods so there are many possible tweaks to the gameplay as well as custom character options.Don't Starve Together also features default character customization - something the single player version doesn't have. You can get random skins from gift boxes if you are actively playing the game. The skins can be traded or bought from other users via Steam market.

If you enjoy survival-type games and have friends who'd be interested in playing with you or if you're okay with playing with strangers, you should definitely grab the game as soon as possible.

I picked up Bastion after a friend's recommendation and I think it's well worth the price. The art style is beautiful, the combat engaging, the soundtrack is a masterpiece and I have to say that the narration was music to my ears in more ways than one~
I was quite surprised to learn that it managed to elicit quite the range of emotions depite me being dead inside for years now. It also does a good job at immersing you in the story and making your actions feel like they matter. The length is perfect in my opinion: reasonably long when achievement hunting but not padded out story-wise, making a casual play enjoyable.
In conclusion: hop aboard the hype train and I'm sure you too will soon become one of the Overwhelmingly Positive review club. 👍

Dragon Age: Origins is an oldie but goodie. It has quite the replay value - the game changes somewhat depending on the particular character origins; the character choices throughout the game impact its progression as well. The story itself is interesting - its dark tone doesn't get overwhelming thanks to occasional comic relief (sometimes unintentionally in the form of the enemies).

The game's strongest draw, however, are the well-written and expertly voiced companions - their attitude towards the player depends on the particular interactions resulting in either animosity, friendship or romance. The background banter between companions can be quite hilarious.

On the downside, the combat can get repetitive for those who are not quite the strategic thinkers (like me), although I grew to love it. The character creation is rather lacking, however the problem can be easily (and with great success) solved with the use of mods.

Tl;dr: Whether you want to fall in love with one of the charming companions or get mentally scarred for life by the hideous boob monster, you're in for a treat.
