Early Access Review
Solid game so far. It's like a modern Banished with combat. There is a lot still to be added into the game, more mechanics, maps, production trees, unlocks etc etc, but as of release, it's a very enjoyable medieval city builder with great potential in it's future.

Some very minor complaints but probably the best Bethesda game at launch in a long time.

Game is very expansive, tons of stuff to do, quests, bounty hunting, ship combat, surveys, exploration, ship/outpost building. There's so much here that even after 50 hours I don't feel like I have done more than scratch the surface of what this game is. Definitely one that has plenty room to grow and evolve over the next decade.

My pros:
Tons of variety in most aspects of the whole game. From VA's, to weapons, to ships etc
The sandbox is really open-ended
Story missions are interesting so far
Tons of potential avenues for modders to approach
Performance for the most part is good
Environments/vistas look really nice

My cons:
Lighting intensity (and shadows) in some situations make character models/textures look bad.
Audio when in dialogue when wearing a helmet doesn't sound different than not wearing a helmet.
More Fast-travelling than i expected.
Repetition of discover-able locations more common than I expected.

Fun so far. The way they deliver the story and narrative in this game is great in comparison to previous titles. Love the animated 2D illustrations to tell the story visually, reminds me of Battletech. Really nice.

Game itself plays well. I think there is some issue with units just stopping what they are doing or archers not shooting/behaving properly. Nothing gamebreaking, just annoying when it does appear. Campaign is great. love lots of the new features and mechanics. Lots of improvements and iterations. Performance for me is good, but I have a top of the line rig so I'd expect that. Had to add a script to fix stutter caused by windows 10 and 12th gen Intel CPUs. Now it is nice and smooth.

All in all, I recommend and this is a really solid base for further expanisons and dlc to really wrap up what has been an amazing Trilogy

Only fun with friends but the games player retention is so bad that you are unlikely to be playing with said friends for long.

Game is a shadow of a battlefield game. Crying shame that they decided to unnecessarily alter the tried and tested battlefield formula

Overall pretty meh. Rather underwhelming truth be told though at times it was fun.

I haven't played a CoD game since Black Ops 2 and decided to give the beta a try with my friends. First thing I noticed was the menus are janky as hell to use. Why are the F1 and F2 buttons being utilised? I have never seen this before it is so awkward. "F1 to confirm changes" why not Enter or Spacebar? Really awkward. strying to scroll through the options menu feels clunky, adjusting settings like FOV sliders is clunky too, you want to increase the FOV? Better get ready to click for every extra degree of vision you want because there are no sliders.

In game I was having really bad performance with the automatically assigned graphic settings. I was having dropped frames constantly, and I saw others complaining about the same thing occuring on the GTX970. Graphics were ok, some nice details on terrain and stuff, though I dunno, this is subjective but I feel like BF1's graphical fidelity is higher. It just feels more impressive, but perhaps that is just due to the larger maps.

It only took until the second day of playing the Beta to run into an aimbot hacker, and I managed to be in a lobby with 1 on each team. The one on my team showed no remorse or shred of humanity as he declared in chat to everyone that he was testing out these hacks to sell to his community later. So I guess be prepared to run into alot of hackers in this game.

All in all it was a good enough brain dead shooter, the character customisation options are limited but appreciated, the weapons look nice the maps are ok (♥♥♥♥ the guy who wanted MG emplacements) but would I recommend this game to buy? No. Definitely not at full price.

Probably the best 4x Space game available. Great game, lots of replayability and has only gotten better over time with constant updates. Wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who has a passing interest in the genre.

The current reccomended status of the game is based mostly on the DLC structure of Sega and Creative Assembly, and shouldnt really be a factor to whether you pick up the base game or not. As many others have stated, vote with your wallet. In my case, I enjoy the game and the setting so I dont mind paying for more.

My thoughts on the game are predominatly positive. It is a fun title, looks good and performance wise it is better than Attila and Rome2. A few of the issues I had with the game i.e. Magic being weak with ultra unit sizes has been addressed and the way reinforcments appeared in random locations in battles is currently being fixed. I have clocked 133 hours in the game and thats without playing as two of the factions yet, Chaos and Orks. Further additions of the oddly coined term "Free LC" has added some variation to the base package.

One of my personaly dislikes of the combat in the game is that the pacing of battles feels too fast. If there are large armies fighting, I have to quickly micromanage everything without much respite given to zoom in and enjoy the cinematics.

On the DLC
G&G is a tad expensive but adds some unique Lords and some cool units.
Beastmen is expensive considering the mini campaign add on which is meh, but beastmen are fun to play.
Chaos is one of the factions I havent played as so I cannot judge on the value proposition.
Blood dlc is what it is. Does add dismemberment which is fun to watch but it is just cosmetic.

If you are the kind of cretin who enjoys frequenting seedy tight alleys with mysterious and shady individuals before going to the local tavern and getting smashed on dwarvish ale to such an extent that you and your band of miscreants go out in the wee hours of the night on a murderous rampage killing honest-to-goodness folk who you drunkenly percieve as large bipedal rats and stealing their valuables then I fully reccomend a psychiatrist.

Otherwise get this game.

A great upgrade on what was a flawed predecessor, the main flaws self inflicted. Overall the game feels more gritty, more dynamic and more battle-ridden than Rome II did. The UI has had an improvment as has the political system and province managment. A return of the family tree sees generals take back their importance to the player, trying to forge a path for them through history and all the trials which come with it.

At times, the design decisions made with unit upgrades/unlocks can seem counterintuitive, and some retinues still not working as intended but the launch of the game went smooth and since then there has been no glaring issues rending the game unplayable.

I do have to recommend the title. Attila is a very good game with a very active modding community, so if you pick the game up and have some issues with certain aspects of the game, then I am sure you'll find mods to help tailor the experience to your desires.
