If you have even a passing interest in electronics or computing, you might like this; it's hands-down one of the most engaging experiences I've had in years — I count about 4-5 nights where it was suddenly 3am and I was still poking away at the CPU that I'd built in-game.

... Did I mention that you start off with gate puzzles, but end up building multiple CPUs in the game?

The UI can take a little bit to get used to, and moving stuff and running wires isn't a perfectly intuitive process, but a few hours in, you'll have gotten used to it. Also, eventually you will swear at the limited assembler (cannot generate multiple bytes from a single op). Generally, though, the level of abstraction and tools provided are "just enough".

This game has monopolised my time for the past few weeks, every moment I'm not playing the game (and not at work), I'm thinking about how I could refactor my CPU architecture or my assembly solution to shave off the last four bytes needed for the achievement.

Buy it. If you're not convinced, buy it on sale.

Not a genre for everyone, but if you like relaxing simulator type games like Euro Truck Sim, you're going to have fun with this. As usual, they've rolled some mods and visual improvements into the base game with this iteration, and it's certainly the one to buy if you're thinking of getting into sim farming.

The plot is rather engaging so far, gameplay is fairly enjoyable, and performance is decently enough (55-58 FPS on mostly Ultra with some High settings, on a 1080).

That said, I would have a whole lot more to write if it didn't crash every 30min, or at major cutscenes. Also, the game has a save system that becomes REALLY annoying when you realise that you have to redo a whole bunch of work just because it crashed.

Avoid for now, and revisit in a few patches IMO.
