This, honestly could be lore friendly to a degree. It's a fantastic mod.

Fantastic game, been playing insurgency since the early mod days. Sinjar was my favorite. Too bad the new publishers gutted the DEV team and shut down the studio. Don't give Embracer group any money.

I've not got a lot of hours in this game but I can honestly say this is one of the best source mods that has ever been made. The simple fact that it still gets updated is enough alone to make me write this review. I've been playing this game for ages and it's what got me into Gmod and PC gaming in general. Simply for being a free multiplayer mod.

The game has some fantastic points and can be really fun. However, it has a lot of glaring issues that could be address to better the overall experience. I will still recommend this game as being a good value for the cost. But as a realistic shooter, it's really not.

Pros*
Large scale battles with relatively good performance on an older system such as my own.
Decent models. The game can be pretty.
Sounds are crisp.
Gameplay is extremely straight forward and simple.
Guns feel punchy... so long as it's not a pistol.
Respawn times are low so you aren't staring at a screen for super long.
When respawning, you don't end up walking 40 years. (this is kind of a con as well however.)

Cons*
The game is overly simple. There really aren't many gamemodes and the gun play is very close to old school Call of Duty with how the guns handle.
The tanks in the game are extremely arcady. They don't fit well with the "realistic" shooter vibes the game tries to portray.
Tank damage models are extremely basic and are based on a tier system consisisting of "Heavy, light, Medium, Recon".
There is progress in the game. WHile not bad in of itself, it creates a hard experience for new players facing machine guns and semi auto rifles with bolt action rifles.
There are too many Anti Tank units. Making tanks extremely hard to play in ways they shouldn't be.
There are no class limits for teams. Meaning you can have spam of certain classes.
There isn't really much server side customization. Meaning sever renters cannot adjust spawn rates, class limits, class blocks or really anything for that matter.
A god awful server selection list that has a Que limit of 6 players. Making it extremely dificult and time consuming for friends to join other friends servers.

Summery*
Overall, the game can be extremely fun. I recommend it for the price. The community can be pretty toxic and devided on certain matters with balance and how the game should progress with age. Aside from that, I find myself coming back to it every couple of nights with friends or even by myself. Play about four or five matchs and have my fill. I'd still recommend SQUAD or Post Scriptum over the game as a whole but that's for different reasons.

Fix the progression and make the plasma pistol useful again.

Jank as can be in terms of stability. You need a good processor to get the best experience possible. However, even with low sim speed this game is pretty fun overall. The weapons update brings a whole new layer to the game for fun as well.

Been playing tower since way early Garry's Mod days. Can't recommend this game enough. Even if its on and off, it never fails to entertain me when I do get on. Not to mention the great times it has brought with my friends both on Garry's Mod and standalone.

It's amazing. It's kinda scary because it just sucks you in and doesn't let you go.

I've been playing this since release on orange box on the Xbox 360. I really hate to see the state this game is in currently. It kills my heart knowing it's being killed off by these scummy bots with no really work being produced to fix these issues. No new weapons for literal years that aren't skins or even the fabled heavy update. Please valve, as a long long time fan, fix this game.
