Great stuff! A really charming 3D platformer. Going for the chill collectathon vibes and I'm all for it. Music is a standout to, some tunes are really fun and not at all what I expected, like the one in the trailer. Movement feels nice, perfect for exploring and looking around for stuff. Although it feels tight enough that I could see some good platforming challenges later on in the game.

All in all a great demo and I can't wait for the final release!

This was a very very crazy experience. I kept saying "Woah" every couple of minutes. I can't wait for the next chapters!

If you like Yume-Nikki or LSD Dream Simulator you gotta see this.

This is an amazing 3D platformer. The movement is one of the most interesting ones I've played lately.

The level design works perfectly with the character and all the platforms, obstacles and everything else are all very well interwoven into the fabric of the world they've built.

The atmosphere is great, very calming and soothing. The only piece of music that isn't super chill is the one that plays when you're navigating the big desert and it's wonderful in its own way. Really brings me back to all the cartoon Zelda games between Wind Waker and Spirit Tracks.

Like other people have said before, if this is a demo.... I can't wait to see what the complete game is! 10/10

It's a very very good bite-sized 3D platformer. One of the best. Its strongest parts are the character controls, level design and charm.

The devs made a great job capturing the spirit of late 90s-early 2000s platformers, withouth needing to reference anything in particular. They just got the art direction and dialogue perfectly right.

The main character controls amazingly. In contrast to other great platformers released recently, this guy is slower and has more restrained movement, but the level design is made with that in mind, so it fits like a glove. Combat is pretty irrelevant like expected from the genre but gets the job done.

I have tiny nit-picks design-wise with how some mechanics are handled (especially fall damage and checkpoints) but they barely retract from the experience, it's just a tiny waste of time here and there.

But all in all, amazing short experience, I definitely recommend anyone to buy this. Even if you're not into the genre a lot, this has a lot of charm and is a really small money and time investment. Easy purchase, great job to the devs!

Really fun bite sized metroidvania.

Definitely one of the best characters ever to control in a platformer. Seriously the moves you can do in this game from very early on are insane. A lot of variety in what you can do and considering too how things can be chained together (especially later on with more items) this really is an insanely fun character to control.

The world and levels were great at giving the player a sandbox to test their abilities on and try to move around finding secrets at hard to reach alcoves or little hidden nooks and crannies.

Combat was serviceable. It was good and did what it need to do. No major complaints but I'd love to see it expanded in your next game, especially with how fun it became later on with how fast you could move around while dealing hits all around.

Graphics were lo-fi. Low detail and felt N64/PS1 in a good way. Although navigation was a little bit difficult in some areas (like the Underbelly) where things were a little too samey, but all in all good stuff.

Music was really nice. I actually really, really liked some of the tracks. At the lowest point, they would be nice ambiance, but some songs were really immersive and fun to listen to.

TLDR : Great short game. Insane moveset. Fun World.

This game has a lot of potential and has a great skeleton. I had a lot of fun for the time I played it.
The problem is that it is not ready yet.

The game is changing a lot each update, which is good because it means that it is being worked on. Most updates add more content and tweak certain mechanics or parameters, all good. But some updates are changing some things, especially the last one at the time of writing this (v1.5), where the character's movement speed keeps fluctuating for some reason and it feels so clunky, uncomfortable and not polished. Other bugs keep appearing sometimes, which if playing on the hardest difficulties will probably make you lose, which is really annoying in a rougelike where you lost all your progress and need to restart from scratch.

This game will probably be amazing once it is released, and it is really good now. But I recommend waiting until it is complete, as to not spoil the experienced with an unfinished version of what I think will be a great game.

Great game, would completely recommend.

At some (very few) points you'll just be pressing up on a hallway, but most of the time you're experiencing insane scenes with outstanding visual and audio design. Fun and interesting puzzles (although not completely perfect, but flaws were few and forgivable) and really good scares.

Interesting world and characters and a story that needs no dialogue to be told. Would highly recommend, specially in a dark room with headphones.

Pyre will make you go on an amazing and gorgeous journey.

It's a game which combines 2 play-styles, a choose-your-own adventure similar to the Banner Saga , and then a Magic-Sports like game of basketball. The story is very well done, with really memorable characters and a beautiful and rich world to explore and read about.

That's a really important part there, reading. If you don't like reading in games a lot you might not enjoy this game as much since you are literally the Reader in this game. I personally have no problems with that but if you wanted a non-stop action game with a narrator always following you, this is different. The narrator does exist and is still voiced by the same person as with Bastion and Transistor, doing a great job as always, but here exposition is done through visuals and text, a lot of it. Again, it's not a problem, the text is really well done, it's only a bad thing if you REALLY hate reading or having the action stopped.

This game is no doubt the best 3D platformer i've played in a while and one of the best i've ever played.

The constrols are the best i've ever experienced, better than mario64, sunshine, galaxy, banjo-kazooie, you name it. You move really fluidly, you begin with all the moves you need, there's minimal unlocking move-wise, but that's great, because it's about perfectioning the use of the abilities you have to move around, moving as fast as you can and making the longest jumps you can.

The worlds are beautiful, really unique (except the first one according to some people, but i think it's unique in many ways) and filled with personality and detail. The characters are interesting, fun, cute and/or spooky (which is really surprising, trust me). The story is simple, and that's part of what makes it beautiful, it doesn't need to be complex like a JRPG, it's a platformer, and for what it is, it's amazing.

TL;DR I really recommend this game, not only for 3D or 2D platformers, but for anyone and everyone.

Owlboy is a relatively short but extremely high-quality Sidescrolling Action-Adventure game.

You play as an Owlboy who tries to protect the world from pirates but in some way seems like he screws up in some way or another. The main thing is that you fly, you grab things and you can grab people, who you use in order to shoot.

It is heavily inspired by classics like metroid, but most importantly Zelda. Although even though its visuals really show its inspiration from Zelda, it does lack a certain quantity and variety of puzzles that the Zelda games offer.

Its story is as beautiful as its artstyle and its characters are charming and somewhat relatable.

All in all, a great game that might seem expensive for its duration, but has such a high quality and refinement of both artstyle and gameplay that makes it absolutely worth it for a lover of the genre or someone who is just getting into it.
