I'll try to make an objective review for sceptic people (I was very sceptical before I bought)

As you can see, I dont have many hours, but usually if a game sucks, I wont bother spending more than an hour with it. I already spent 5 with BF 2042 in just a couple days, and I plan to spend some more.

I have to say, I did not play the game previously, so I dont know where it comes from. But in it's current state, it is playable and quite fun.

About the hw reqs, I'm running on a 3700x, with 16GB 3200MHz CL14, and a 5700xt, in 2K. Models and textures at ultra, everything else is set to medium, no AA, and AF. Very stable ~70-80 fps, on smaller maps where lots of people tend to be at one place, it can drop to 50-60 in heavy fights, but never went lower. For me on a 144Hz monitor, this is perfectly playable, and actually the game looks pretty decent. (BF1 is my favourite graphics wise, that imo still looks better)

About the servers: So far I've seen two cases. Either the server runs flawlessly, and you have a perfect game without any issues, or the servers refuses to register all of your inputs, and you die miserably because of it (could not turn around because my mouse did not register, not a mouse issue). It only happened in two games so far, but it might be an issue on my side as well (maybe ISP or whatever), more playtime is needed to decide.

About the gameplay: It is quite fun. Fast paced "tactical" shooter, which tends to be more arcady with every single battlefield release. You decide if it is good or bad. Don't expect too deep team play with random squads, as people dont tend to use microphones as much as they used to in previous releases, or in different squad based games. But for an arcade shooter where you not necessary play because you want deep tactical gameplay, but a rather quick paced arcade action, while still playing objectives instead of tdm or battle royale, it is still good, but getting a bit outdated and boring (as im getting older, I find HLL way more fun than this in this aspect). I only played conquest, and some portal 1942 so far. Conquest is fun but a commander is missing for the teams, lots of times squads are running around without any real purposes. Portal mode for me was even more fun, but the lack of players made half of a 64 player lobby being filled with bots, which is not very nice imo.

Bugs: So far I did not have that many, one time matchmaking crashed while searching for a game, another one it just simply stopped, a third time the game just quit (but that was the 50 opened tabs fault :P)

Cheaters: I was lucky, because in the five hours I did not meet any.

Conclusion: Fun game, not necessary the best battlefield ever made, but if you want something similar to 3 or 4, go for it.
If you love bf 1/5, stick with those.
If you want something more hardcore/realistic, go for Squad/HLL.
Buy it if it's on sale, or get it in EA play, but it does not worth 60 euros for the base game imo.

With several hunder hours behind my back (on Origin), I can safely say, one, if not the best battle royale game on the market. Definitely worth a try.
