I did not expect to like this short VN as much as I did, nor did I expect to have it open for almost 4 hours to complete all the endings. But ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I did.
The premise and story itself might be simple, but the writing, and its execution were engrossing enough to carry the story through, despite its short length and moderate replay-ability. The art-style itself is also of a high quality and manages to contrast it's minimal-surrealism and floral patterning next to more moe and cartoon-y illustrations, which fits in this setting where reality seems to be slowly breaking. The music, which I rushed to buy after completion because I liked it that much, helps to convey the proper beats, from emptiness and hopelessness to on the nose quirkiness and mystery, the music isn't conventionally anything new but again, is executed very well with range to spare on it's key moments and characters.
Overall, I highly recommend q.u.q. as a highly re-playable and stylized VN in a similar vein to milk² (although i like this more).

Also, If you don't want to trudge through all the text on each play through, I thoroughly recommend making use of the skip feature by pressing LCTRL or TAB (This toggles skipping though) so you can experiment with choices.

why did i play this again? was this a game design assignment thing? why was accepting memes tied to the friend's suicide? why is there a gay flag and.. some other flag i don't know about? what was the protagonist working on again? whyy is the protagonist's bed cover just eggs? why is there a not-poster of madoka magica on the wall? why did RPS even recommend this (oh wait i already know the answer)? who even made this? is this one of those games that will just go in the funny list of short free experimental indie games on steam that everyone likes to waste their time with?
whatever who cares nothing matters
i give it a: it wasted 20 minutes of my time/ i was bored
music choice also wasn't really distinct if i'll be honest, it feels too much like the author's own music choice (which it probably was) and i'm not really a fan of chillwave (if that's what it's even called). Art is well done with a pseudo-3d effect but it seems a little creepy when examining character faces (there's only one character though). Story was something i gave no ♥♥♥♥ about, the pitched down "happy birthday" song doesn't really sound creepy or dramatic, throwing a few more effects on there would've helped it from just being laughable. i don't make games but i sure can criticise the ♥♥♥♥ out of stuff like this, even if i don't really care.

[Free Weekend Review]
♥♥♥♥ game essentially, Pick it up when it's cheaper than $20, alongside survival. otherwise, you're not going to spend more than 35 hours (84 Hours if you're that into it). It does reward players with a great cooperative experience on harder difficulties but (dare i say) stupid Design Decisions keep me from purchasing or coming back

+ Good Animations and Game Feel
+ Good Weapon Sound Design
+ A Sense of Teamwork on Harder Difficulties
+ i guess it looks kind of nice
+ Dark zone is fun with a group of friends

* Most People are quite friendly in the dark zone, possibly due to the free weekend players but there is a meta concerning A FAMAS for some reason

- Dark Zone is infuriating whilst alone
- Bullet Sponge Enemies
- Somewhat Conflicted AI
- Un-interesting story with Sequel/Expansion-bait ending
- Buggy Engine
- Texture Streaming Issues (resulting in overly blurry textures during my playtime)
- Overly Echo-ey Indoor Voices
- Infuriating Level Design
- why are blueprints levelled like a one use cheap ♥♥♥♥♥?
- it's kind of edgy with the green poison thing (just makes me go "that's coo'.")

If it does go for cheaper i will update my review to include Survival

Rating: Cheap four-use ♥♥♥♥♥/10

It seems every now and then i return to this game.
E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy is a classic made popular by the sparse image edits, online comics and video reviews of it. I bought this game back in 2012-13 when it was on sale for about 5 dollars. Whilst I haven't religiously played it, I've enjoyed putting about around 100 hours into it over a period of 8 years. heck I said this was "actual best game (play in moderation)" originally. Whilst I don't agree with that now, I do agree that the game on offer here is of a high standard despite the janky source engine roots.
The Art style is a cross of 40K and cyberpunk media, as well direct sci-fi influence from Killzone (in the form of the federal faction). You could almost categorize the friendly faction designs into knight-punk/samurai-punk.
The story is avant-garde for getting the player to replay the game three times in a row to see a true ending, which isn't as bad a multi-route visual novel or one that can potentially force you to restart because of a bad choice you didn't know you could make, but i digress. The cycles of guilt plotline and the fact that none of the story dialogue feels literal do a great job of confusing the player and a not-so-great job of leading the player to a conclusion. The gameplay is pretty great, it's got a lot more stats and RPG variables but it still manages integrate them in a way that does not end up subtracting from the gunplay, it all feels great, down to the leaning, the sound design (when it's not using half-life 2 base sounds) and Abilities. Missions can be approached in an almost Deus Ex like structure, providing ample player choice. Hack, shoot, cloak, probably shoot or anything in between are all viable strategies for accomplishing most objectives.
The downside of the RPG mechanics is that it takes forever to progress properly. I theorise that this could've been done to balance out power between the three playthroughs of the game or to balance out multiplayer and PVP, although I’m not sure i remember if stats are equalised in PVP. You will still be waiting for your stamina to recharge at adrenaline pumper level 6 and even still at level 10, although by that point the wait is significantly reduced, but it is ridiculous to have this sort of stop and start loop that lasts minutes depending on if you spent enough brouzouf on your heart. This wouldn't be bad if the maps weren't so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ huge, most of the maps have this Morrowind level view-distance of about 20-40m, and as far as i know there is no way to change this. Not even the Ultra settings cfg saved me from this... it just made things worse.
I should also talk about the hacking whilst we're still here. Hacking works on a real time basis where opponents launch attacks that (depending on their hacking skill) vary in speed and effectiveness. Hacking allows players to possess, Destroy, Hack or steal from their targets, from there the combat phase begins which Jim sterling flabbergasted-ly described as turn based (and i'm assuming most game journos at the time also agreed), which it isn't really. You can get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over for not being fast enough or straight up doing nothing but i can see the similarity. from there you have some very basic options for your action, attack, reduce opponent stats and raise your stats. the interesting thing to note is that some viruses that raise stats can also decrease others, such as the overflow virus, which is an integral to a meme strategy of raising your attack to max and Kamikazeing the opponent until they reach zero. It's not a hard system but it's terribly explained due to the utter uselessness of the in-game tutorial videos, of which there are 23 of.
So Whilst it's timely for this rewrite of this review, I’ll mention Cyberpunk 2077, which has been in development for as long as this game has been out and still managed to (imho) pull off some aspects of gameplay better. Although as of writing, the release date is still December 10th and only a select few have been able to play it. But all i'm saying is that despite the development time, money, effort and people put into CP2077, it still won't be as unique as something like E.Y.E was.

Problem is that it'll get buried though.

♥♥♥♥♥♥ review for ♥♥♥♥♥♥ people below, just play ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ video game already and ♥♥♥♥ off.

Sven-Co-op is** a half-life mod enabling cooperatve play against AI enimies on half-life's single player maps and their expansions, the latter requring ownership of said expansions. Sven coop also comes with a couple of custom maps/ campaigns included as a default package. and that's not counting the amount of downloadble custom maps.

Since i'm sure you can figure out sven co-op and it's legacy/popularity for yourself. The 5.0 update adds steam intergration and survival mode, which in my opinion though, i get what they're trying do, forcing players to take caution and work more as a team. but it gets chaotic when large groups of players are involved (32 players nugha). if it's not already tested, i'd like to see a lives system although it could ruin gamemode as a whole (i'm not a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ developer so it's really up to them).

Overall though, its pretty a darn enjoyable experience for "playing half life with friends". The campaign re-implementation (for half-life) has been improved from what i've played now and last time i played (which wasn't much to be honest) . It flows more naturally instead of blockading you and having players kill enimies to remove said blockade. maps also add variety to sven, even replacing weapons and their functions.now, sure it may not be a Triple Ay videyo game or something that changes the medium (*cough* tumblrtale), but if you haven't played sven coop. ♥♥♥♥ off, are you kidding me? if you're returning for the 5.0 release its worth your time wether or not your the former or latter, you worthless cuckoldsisweartogod.

Children can also ♥♥♥♥ off. (muh guideline violation)
