A game from an older age. The game doesn't give you a 5 hour tutorial or hold your hand to the point you just pray it stops popping up new text boxes. You drop in, and figure it out. It gets more complex over time with more workstations. You can run around and fight, collect or sit around and build a home. Well worth the $11 I paid. The only issue I have with the game is no cross platform. If you have a deck, get it on steam for sure. You'll probably have more people to play with than on switch.

A well made but simple game. You drive around, get out to pick things up, and get back in the car. It has a somewhat creepy and ominous heir about it even though theres not much threat and no scary situations. It just does a surprisingly good job at making you feel uneasy. The gameplay loop does get old a little fast, but the idea was interesting enough to keep me going. I thought there was more to the story than there is though and it is a little disappointing. The only tedious portions of the game can be modified in the settings, which is something I wish so many other games had. Your car can get damaged every outing and you have to spend a full trip or time/resources to repair the car after every trip. Under normal settings you would have two of every part and trade them out in a repair machine every run or spend resources to repair and after the first half of the game this became just an annoyance. A setting allows the car to full heal damaged items on return. It doesn't give you back the destroyed items so it doesn't feel like it makes the gameplay easier.

If there's 2 things this game did right it was QOL settings and atmosphere. Could use a lot of work on the story. Worth the play.

I've loved this game since it came out back in 99. The problem is there has either been a windows or steam update that caused this steam version of the game to no longer function. Check the discussion boards and you will see it's riddled with failed launches. I've tried every conceivable way to play this and every trick I know that works with no success. I've played previously on all this same hardware and the game hasn't been uninstalled since it last worked. Pretty sad this has happened when I paid money for the game, so just don't waste your money and go get OpenRCT2, a passion project to revive the game.

The game is pretty great and a solid upgrade to the original. The level design is far better, powers are pretty similar, and story is better. This probably has some of the best level design out of any game in recent years and far out designs pretty much any other platformer. I never pre-order games because there's nothing but problems with every game that tends to come out and there's often 0 reason to pre-order. All you're doing is paying up front for a game that is almost always broken and I followed that same rule here, but I couldn't wait any longer after a couple days from release and the reviews were good so I grabbed it up. I would not have been disappointed in any way if I pre-ordered this one.

The issues for the game are pretty small too and easy to overlook. I only managed to get stuck in 1 spot and that was under the level in cassies mind. You can catch onto the pillars and if you fall after that, you respawn to the pillar. To fix this, just exit and re-enter the mind. Past that, the collectibles aren't hidden well enough for me. There's really only a select few I had trouble finding, maybe 6 figments gave me a little trouble and a couple of those were just oversight. The only 2 that I actually appreciated the hiding spot for were 2 hidden in cardiology in the acting head. The last issue, and probably biggest, is the game is far shorter than I expected. I heard it was short, but I figured the collecting would at least take me a good while, but it didn't. In less than 30 hours I 100% the game with every achievement and that's including at least 2 hours of pause time or sitting in the menu as I had to walk away pretty often. Because it's so short, I really do feel like the price is a little high. I'd say $40 is probably a fair price max. It's just hard to justify $60 for less than 30 hours when you can get games for $20 that far surpass that. The end game could use some serious upgrades.

I would personally buy it at the 60 price simply because the first game was solid and this one gave me a really nice unique experience you just won't get with any other game. This is probably the best platformer released in years.

The link below has videos of the entire play through with basically 0 talking incase you want to check out some of the game. The experience is still far better than the videos so don't spoil the game too much. Take a look, see if it's worth it to you, then grab the game.

They have since added "QOL" updates to the game. Not sure why, but they made it even easier to collect everything, which took me less than 24 hours to 100%. The only note is I would really like this game to be more difficult or have more difficult collection items.

Summary of my thoughts (since most people hate long reviews):
You would have the same experience if you threw on NPR, sat in a cardboard box, and busted out a 250 piece kitten puzzle. Actually, that might actually be a better use of time. At least you could learn something from NPR.

I had hoped this would be a pretty cool game, but it's far less enjoyable than I expected. I'm just happy I got it as part of a bundle with games I actually wanted. I'd be pretty upset if I actually purchased this game. The puzzles are FAR too easy. It took 3 hours to finish the entire game, and it only took that long because I was hunting in a lot of spots to find secrets. I found and completed a bunch of the secret puzzles. If you plowed through the story directly, it would be 1.5-2 hours if you are halfway competent with puzzlers. I remember speedrunning portal back in highschool against classmates, those weren't too challening, but at least the story was fun and interesting. This game has a cheap story that makes you think theres a point at which you will be able to make a choice. I looked all over for an escape area similar to portal and there was none. I then waited for 10 minutes at the last sequence of the game because you have two people yelling at you to do two different things, and one of those is literally impossible. You have 0 choice, it's 100% linear except for the minor "beta" puzzles that are just as simple as the normal ones, and everything is so simple graphics wise that it looks like you are in a similator that isn't quite capable of handling complex color display. This game has the elements and potential to be amazing, but horrible execution. I hope they did better with the second game, but after my experience, I won't be buying it.

This game has progressed extremely slowly, much like many other early access games, however the gameplay is very nice, stable and well exectued. Though this game is still not released after two years, it is still a great game at its current state.

The only big downfall of this one is that it's kind of boring solo. With that in mind, I obviously recommend getting this with friends.

UPDATE:
After having this for a few years, maybe 4 years now, I still love returning to the game with friends. A few buddies at work bought it and we began playing. The new changes and additions really improved the game, but it's still much better with friends. I suggest getting a group of 4 and putting it on hard. Nomral mode is far too easy for three or more players. It's meant for solo play it seems.

Early Access Review
For shuch a simple concept this game allows for some pretty interesting and intricate designs. It is definately lacking in some content, but it has incredible potential. All the ground work is perfect and it can only get better from here. If you like building and designing vehicle or war machines this is the game for you and it is well worth the price. I've made some pretty cool quad-copter bombers and bomber blimps. The only tip I have is think outside the box. Having trouble with weight balancing on a bomber? Throw on some detachable counter weights.

So I played this game about a year or two ago on a free weekend. I though it was pretty good, but didn't really have any friends who played and wasn't ready to drop that much money on a game I would mostly be solo on. A few friends now have the game so I figured I would go and buy it. I did so at a terrible time because the GOTY edition went on sale for $8 less than what I payed for the base game, but that isn't the issue here. When I played it first, it was a good game. Well balanced, interesting, and different. We all know we need a different game these days with nearly all of them being run/gun military multiplayer or bland rpg.

Playing it now is pretty disappointing. I didn't know about how far this game had fallen before I bought it or I never would have done so. First of all, there is $140 worth of DLC, much of which are weapons? Not only are they weapons, they are more powerful ones. This just screams pay to win intent. I was pretty upset that 80% of the game was unplayable unless you dropped more money, but what seemed like a big slap in the face for me was they also dropped microtransactions into the game. Something I distinctly remembering them say would never happened. I respected them for that because microtransactions only belong in free games to generate revenue and only for cosmetic items or a fast way to obtain normal game content. I wasn't happy with this, but it gets worse. I got an achievement that gave me one of the microtransaction items for free. So that's pretty ok, get some free stuff from an achievement... well not realy. I couldn't figure out how to use this item. After a while I did some research and apparently, some of these items are PART OF DLC PACKS. So you have to pay microtrans fees for an item that might be part of a DLC that you probably don't have. So basically, pay for the item, then pay for the DLC to use the item.

Boy has this game fallen. It was perfect how it was, could have expanded a lot with like 2 $10 dlc packs and been incredible. I don't know if the dev team was drugged or something, but it seems like they completely lost their minds. I don't know why I thought this studio was good. How in the world didn't I see that a studio who makes games sentered around theft would do everything they could to rob the players blind?

Dark Souls 2 is much better than this game and way more challenging. This game also has a good deal of problems. It maps my third party game controller to weird buttons where left is up, A is bumper, right stick down is start, and all kinds of other weird stuff. The main mouse control for the camera is so glitchy it causes dizzyness and has been known to cause nausea in some people. I had to install a few fixes made by users just to make the mouse usable for normal play. The button setup for that is so weird though and doesn't allow for reliable dual wield combat. If you have an official xbox360 controller it works perfectly fine and the game is a decent play, however I do not and I won't pay for a game and go buy a controller only for that game when it is $60 just for the controller alone.
