Yeah, nah. Was hoping for a game inspired by Snow Runner which would allow me to rebuild disaster hit sites.

What I've got is a dumbed down console game with piss poor NPC path finding.

One simple example.

A part of the game loop involves plotting a route for NPC truck drivers to follow (ie. deliver material from point A to point B).

Issue is that the path finding sucks so much that you'll literally spectate NPC truck drivers running into barrels/boxes/cargo containers and even themselves while there's a literal f***ton of open space to drive around the obstacles.

Might revisit in a few months time after a few updates and when this thing ends up on special.

What a shame. Love the concept of the game but as others have mentioned, the game has a super clunky user interface.

Hoping over time things get better but for now. I can't recommend it.

Super handy tool for anyone playing Satisfactory.

Takes a little to get used to but once you do, it makes it pretty easy to design different factory setups.

Its far from perfect. Has its issues but it scratches an Open World/Survival/Far Cry-esk itch.

Basically spending my time running from stronghold to POI, etc killing then popping over to my base to build.

Its far from perfect but scratches an itch of wanting something cross between old school Outpost and something like Factorio.

Hopefully the devs get enough support to keep pushing out updates to fix random crashes, etc.

Like others have mentioned. Its not like Spintires, Mudrunner and Snowrunner. It's something different.

If your expecting something like Snowrunner. Go buy those expansions.

One of my biggest gripes with Expeditions is that the "persistence" is gone.

What I mean by that is that when finish an "expedition", you ultimately end up back at a selection screen and at least some progress on the map gets reset.

For example.

I ran into a situation where I came across a stranded truck during on expedition, I pulled it out of the mud, and then when I finished the expedition, the truck, that was stuck, was reset BACK into the mud because it was part of another expedition.

And then when I did come around to doing the "expedition" to recover the truck out of the mud. I ended up using the same type of truck for the recovery which was weird in itself.

Its not Satisfactory and its early access but man, its fun. The story is interesting.

Looking forward to seeing where they take it.

Its early but this is one of those games that's worth supporting early on.

The foundations are there, enough content to give you a taster, the interface and how it runs is great, and there's a ton of potential for added depth.

Love this game. Love both the theme and pace.

Perfect for those days/nights when you just want to relax.
