I can't stop playing this game, it's the most entertaining thing I've seen in a long time. It's got:

-A wide arsenal of items and weapons with randomized stats/effects/alternate fires a la Borderlands/Risk of Rain. The gunplay is whacky yet crisp, not to mention a blast.

-Smooth and satisfying movement mechanics along with well-crafted maps to maneuver and exploit. The rooms filled with traps and loot at the end are a nice touch. You can bounce off enemies' heads, dealing damage and looking cool at the same time.

-Enemies that provide a hectic bullethell. It has been fun learning how to survive. Not once have I felt cheated or upset when I died, I just came back wanting to do better. The variety of standard enemies keeps you on your toes, and the boss encounters are top notch too.

-A super charming art style. You can't go wrong with some good cell shading. There isn't much story other than a teaser at the moment, but what we have is portrayed in comic frames, and I love the look of them. The soundtrack fits in great too.

Did I mention Early Access? I expect nothing but good things from the future. Reading the patch notes gives me the feeling there is someone back there who knows what they are doing and cares about their game.

It is safe to say that I am enamored with this game. It takes a lot to get me off RuneScape nowadays. Two player co-op is available if you have a brobot, of course more players would be awesome but I'm happy with any multiplayer. Matchmaking seems pretty rough for North America, but I was able to find a match with a lot of patience.

To try to nitpick: I find the 3D model for Max to look a bit off compared to her drawn depiction, I'm not sure what it is, but I prefer the 2D version. I also found that the default melee keybind "X" was a bit out of reach and the drop weapon keybind "F" a little too easy to press. A matter of taste maybe but easily swappable in the settings. I noticed my projectiles curved downwards if I shot directly up in a safezone, but I didn't notice in game. All just minor things. I would call this game a masterpiece, but I don't know if I'm qualified for that.

If you aren't familiar with Humble Bundle, this November you can buy the game for 15$ Canadian (Cheaper than full price) AND GET SEVEN OTHER GAMES AT NO EXTRA COST!! They give you the steam keys to put right in your library, nothing shady. Your purchase will even help charity <3 I'm not going to link them but it's a deal I would not want to miss out on.
