As a person who enjoyed F.E.A.R. and its DLCs, I had some expectations about F.E.A.R. 2. Well... almost everything that F.E.A.R. did well was either removed or downgraded, except for the music and horror elements (those two were good or even better than in F.E.A.R.). They took some ideas from the DLCs, but the core of the game felt shrunken. The tactical aspect I was hoping for (at least for me) didn’t really exist in this game. The shooting had zero satisfaction, and the enemies felt more like Call of Duty than F.E.A.R.. The AI was just generic and uninspiring.
Let's talk about weapons: the throwable items were good and well-made, and most of the guns were decent—well, except for the laser and flamethrower, which were disasters. The sights on the assault rifle and penetrator (which also had its damage nerfed) felt strangely inaccurate. The graphics suited the F.E.A.R. setting, but the character designs were strange and felt off. The level design was mediocre or sometimes even bad (I once parkoured through a level and fell off the map). The story had some depth and was okayish. Music is the best aspect of this creation.
I can barely say anything positive about this game. Finishing it felt unsatisfying, and the gameplay ranged from mid to bad.
