I had already played this game a bit before the Potato Sack promotion, but due to said promotion, I have finally had a chance to put a decent chunk fo time into it to make a recommendation. AaAaAA is a pretty fun - if sometimes frustrating - game which involves BASE jumping from the tops of skyscrapers, floating platforms, mountains and more. It is not a "realistic" BASE jumping simulation, though. The levels are crazy-insane and the game is rife with a twisted sense of humor, which all comes together to make AaAaAA a very unique experience. While some levels can be extremely challenging, failure usually leaves you with a "just one more time" feeling, rather than outright frustration. I thought AaAaAA was well worth the price of admission, and recommend it if you are looking for something completely fresh to kill some time.

Amnesia, a 1st person horror-adventure, is one of the coolest (and scariest... let's not forget scariest) games I've played in a long while. There are no guns or other weapons of any kind. It's just you, locked in a creepy castle, doing whatever you can to survive to the end... which usually involves hiding and trying not to soil your pants too much. As a fan of old-school adventure games from the dawn of the genre, I very much appreciated this new modern take on things. The game has gotten lots of buzz since its release, and all of the praise is well-deserved, especially for such a small developer. If you like horror, mysteries and/or adventure games (and don't mind being scared out of your wits too much), Amnesia is a no-brainer. Two thumbs up!

The Ball is a fun low-profile (hadn't even heard of it before the Potato Sack promotion) 1st person puzzle game. Basically, it's just you and a giant ball up against a bunch of puzzles and an army of undead mummy-things. The main focus is on using the ball to solve puzzles, but there are also enemies that appear from time to time to switch things up and add a bit of tension to the mix. The game does a good job of steadily introducing new mechanics as you make your way through the ancient underground labyrinth. I was able to finish it in just a few short hours, but to me, that is a plus (it did not overstay its welcome). It's definitely worth the price, so I say take a look at it if you're looking for a fun yet different sort of game to while away an afternoon. Thumbs up.

Do I really need to state the awesomeness of TF2 at this point? It takes a really good game to still be popular over 10 years after its initial release. TF2 is one of, if not THE, best cooperative first person shooters ever made... 'nuff said. Get it if you don't already have it. [yearly edit for 2024 nominations badge]
