Beautifully made game. The game is styled after a story book, with striking visual and a well-spoken (at times quite funny) narrator. The combat is simple and straightforward, but has very clean movement making the battle still looks very engaging. Lots of customizable options that tend to be just cosmetic difference (which can be a good thing, in a way).

The game is quite short, with a decently sized map that offers a few exploration opportunities. Although it would be better if you just stick to the area that your quests lead you to, else you would have to backtrack quite often. Progression can be a bit repetitive because of that, quests often make you go back through the same area as there is only a few fast travel spots. It can be quite a drag because of that, especially in the early game, when you mostly have to tackle quests that make you go underground and kill some bugs than go up get new quest, go back underground, kill some bugs, to gather some measly coins (man, isnt our rat boy supposed to be royalty). Platforming is quite simple so all the backtrack is simply time wasting.
Aside from that the gameplay is very fun. You have an one hand weapon to stab your enemy, a two hand weapon to break their shield or sometimes stun them, a shield to block and parry, and your quick rat paws to dodge around. Combat is mostly recognizing your enemy attack type and hitbox, make use of your appropriate tools to deal with them. Personally I find it the most fun to fight a group of enemies, as there is many factors at play, requiring you to swap between your tools constantly. And the devs did a good job creating quite a variety of enemy encounter with this simple combat.

Well you can ignoring all the boring stuff above since the most important part of this game is that you play as a rat in a rat kingdom (or as they say, ratdom) Despite the gorey and blood gameplay, the game is really, very silly. Full of rat and frog and mole and many other animal puns. The silliness clashes with the quite serious premier of the game, which honestly make it very charming. Just earlier I saw my ratfolk getting brutally slaughtered by the maurauding frogs (look more like toads tho), and now Im fighting a dude called Molehammad Ali in the arena. 10/10 narrative.

Seriously tho, if you havent, you should try the game out. It is quite short, you can easily beat it in under 15 hours. If you just want to enjoy the beautifully crafted world and the silliness, you can also select the easier difficulty. The game also received a bunch of free updates since launch, which basically double the playtime of the main story.

The devs are clearly very passionate, so if you want to see more beautiful games like this, go support them.

It is called Don't Starve but there is a myriad of cause of death out there other than starving that I have personally experienced too many times. Having cool skins helped me cope with that though.

Noita is what made me starting to wonder what's going on over there in Finland.
Simply calling it a rogue like it underselling game. One of the most insane games I ever played. It gotta be the most sandbox game ever. You can pretty much create EVERYTHING through the power of magic (literally), at the cost of hurting your brain trying to figure out how all the spell combinations interact (and risk exploding yourself when testing).

It is one of those games you just have to play to see for yourself how insane it is.
Btw beware of the mushrooms, they are genuinely addictive, for good reasons.

Really fun and easy to get into.

The game managed to create the epic feeling of a medieval battlefield, be it a town pillage, castle siege or open field battle. You get access to most of gameplay stuff right at start, so it is easy to hop right in and play. Stuff you need to pay or grind for are almost all cosmetics, which is quite nice. It can be a bit annoying how much you have to play to unlock all the subclasses tho.

Overall really great game if you like playing as a medieval soldier and want to have quick fun without having to invest too much effort in.

Unexpectedly fun strategy game. Roleplay as a certain kingdom of your choice and make your way up in this Eurocentric medieval world.

It might seem a bit overwhelming at first but the game is actually quite simple and straightforward. Most fun part is building your army and controlling troops in a real time battlefield (with pause and fast forward ofc), conquering provinces and forming new vassal kingdoms, sending spy to cause chaos in your neighbor countries.

The game still has a lot to desire in term of variety in battlefield, siege, political interactions, royal family, etc. Even then it is still a lot of fun to set your personal goals and ♥♥♥♥ around. Definitely recommend.

P.S. ♥♥♥♥ the Sicilian, I'm glad I wiped them off the map permanently.

Got the game for free, reaching 1.8k hours on it, and I don't think I will stop playing anytime soon. Can't say it wasn't a bargain.

For a game that still receives regular updates (after 6 years even), it is hard to sum up the overall experience. It has a lot of up and down, the team behind the game surely put a lot of effort into it, but at the same time a lot of questionable decisions. Even then, the balance of the game is never too bad to the point you cannot enjoy it, unless you take interest in some of the crippled heroes that the devs seem to forget existing (please just rework Highlander already).

But I think what truly make the game irreplaceable to its player base, is how unique it is. Seriously I have considered dropping the game many times when they released some of the most questionable update, but if you think about it, there is no other game like this. This 3d, real time, stance-based combat, with variety of weaponry and playstyle, and of course, customization.

Fashion is the real endgame, the customization isn't perfect per se, far from it, but it is one of the best I have seen. Despite being a hero-based game, the amount of customization you can do to each and all of the heroes is honestly impressive. You might think otherwise when playing and looking at other players, since many players either don't care about fashion or frankly suck at it, but if you actually put some effort into, you can create loadouts on the same character that look vastly different from each other. If you like playing dress-up with your knight/samurai/caveman/etc then this is the game. Though if you do not care about fashion, it can be a blessing, because unlocking visual for armors and weapons and other stuff depend on this horrid loot system that I don't think Ubisoft has any plan to improve.

All thing considered, if you are interested in this game, take some look at the combat, the fashion and you will see if it is the game for you. No need to worry about activity because as I have said, the game has a really stable player base owning to the fact that there is no other game like it. Evidently you can just look at how it is still going after 6 years, I can still boot up the game, queue for Dominion and get a match after max 2 minutes. This is frankly the best pseudo medieval light fantasy melee combat real-time action PvP game you can find out there.
