Runs wonderfully on my machine. If you enjoy monster hunter, it's probably the best in the series. It makes me not want to go back to previous installments. If you've never played one before, know that the game is a bit grindy (but that is the point). The objective is basically farm a monster for resources, make gear from those resources to fight better monsters. Your character's damage and skills are not determined by EXP but by the gear you wear, so it's all about gettin that grind on. If you're not a monster hunter fan to begin with, you'll be happy to know that the story is more intriguing than the others (as I've seen it so far) and that gear is not as resource demanding as it has been, lowering the grind requirements.
The multiplayer is leagues better than it could have ever been on any DS system and better than 3U on the Wii U. I run the game on medium (970, 16gb, i7 4790) at a constant 60fps and it looks terrific. I will update this review as I play more but man, as a previous monster hunter fan, I cannot recommend this game enough. It takes everything I loved and hated about the old games and improves upon them greatly.

The game, at its core, is fine. It's a fine shooter with fine mechanics. Only problem now is the servers which, despite how long it's been since the game's release (I bought it when it came out), have yet to be even touched. I have had a problem since day 1 where I am unable to customize my character with any cosmetics. Other people seem to have this problem as well, greeted only by a message stating "an error has occurred" in the customization screen. In the weeks this game has been out, I have yet to see this problem even be mentioned by a developer. So, as it stands, I currently run around in the game wearing absolutely nothing (that is until I find clothing on the ground). This, along with the fact that all server-side stats are not numbers but an "N/A" placeholder, has led me to not recommend this game. I don't know if the problem was my character data being created during the first hours of launch where the servers were being nuked by millions of players, but, as it stands, I can only hope to have the basic customization that we all seemed to complain about in other AAA titles.

Will update this review if I can ever access all of the game's capabilities.

Get it on sale like I did. Otherwise, hold off and just buy Far Harbor.

It's a fun DLC. It has about 5-6 themed areas, each with their own enemies and challenges, along with some fun quests and interesting NPCs.

Having played the game from the start of it's release, even playing the beta, Overkill broke my heart when they added microtransactions. Now after becoming independent and having full control over the title, they removed those microtransactions entirely, making them the first developers to do something like that EVER.

After that entire fiasco, I feel nothing but obligated to write this review saying that IT'S A FANTASTIC SHOOTER AND EVERYONE SHOULD PLAY IT.
