---- TLDR ----
Game is a bug filled reskin of DOS2 set in the forgotten realms and would not recoomend.

---- Rant ----
If you are looking for another true baldur's gate experience stay away from this, if you are fine with Larian studios Divinity Original Sin 2 style of games and don't care about the original baldur's gates then go ahead and play this, as it is basically just DOS2 with the skin and name of a baldur's gate game.

It is nothing like the original two games that made me fall in love with the baldur's gate series (Granted it is a different studio that has developed the game since the last two came out, but if they even took the time to play the original games and see what the fans wanted then i would give this a positive review.

The lack of ability to tell your party to WAIT at one point while one member goes off and scouts out the rest of an area while hidden is non existant, i have had multiple game overs due to me wanting my rouge to go off ahead and scout for traps, only to be followed by my entire party and have them walk over a trap and die to it.

---- Rant over -----

Now to get into the pros and cons of these style of games that larian studios has forced upon us once again,

Pro's
- game play is linear with a little bit of world exploration in it
- wide variety of encounters and npc's

Con's
- camera is janky as all hell and very hard to get use to if you aren't use to the camera style.
- Basically DOS2 set in the forgotten realms.
- bugs galor (i know it is early access) ranging from units spazzing out and their models stretching all over the screen, to soft freezes, to straight up hard crashing your entire computer and forcing a hard restart.
- no alignment to choose from
- very basic character creator (you get 7 races and of those 7 4 are different varients of elves)
- no set difficulty choice
- game play options are very limited
- no character script editor
- not worth the $80 CAD tag that they have put on it
- very limited ai party control, no way of getting other members to stop and stay in one place leading to other party members walking over traps i am trying to disarm and killing themselves and the entire party

In my honest opinion this game is still far from the AAA status that Larian has deemed it, and it is no where near the true to the original baldur's gate claim they made upon the announcement of the game, if i didnt already have 4 hours in the game i would straight up refund this game in a heart beat without a second thought, if they fix the camera and add in other main character components to the game my review might change but i highly doubt i will see that come to fruition.
