Growing up knowing nothing about snowmobiles I've always assumed that they look like the most dangerous and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane transportation ever invented. I'm so glad that I was right. Highly recommended

Game starts as a fun profound combat racer and becomes a borderline gambling simulator real quick as you progress through the career, there are some RNG aspects you can handle with your skill but this game can be extremely frustrating in an unfair way without expecting many, MANY Jesus take the wheel moments during the gameplay. If there's a "neutral" review option this gotta directly get in that zone but with how often this goes on big sale eh it def worth 3 bucks

wonderfully nightmarish journey packed with an immaculate atmosphere and layers of fun world buildings, if you love yume nikki you'll love this one too

real world tip: despite of how the word "saltwater" is commonly accepted, it's still debatable if the water from an ocean is comprehensible for human knowledge

So it's on sale for half the price at the moment I'm writing this review, I'm having a lot of fun with this game and I do think it worth the sale price but keep in mind that Mash Games is struggling bad with the management of this game(which is basically nonexistent for now) so don't have too much of high hopes in a long shot

BMX Streets is meant to be more realistic and hardcore approach of the portrayal on the sport. Expect a lot of bails, trial and errors etc. Not only the skills but sometimes the inconsistency of the physics gets in the way too, which can be a huge downside to a lot of people for a valid reason. I don't mind it too much on a laid back gameplay session but when it happens mid filming or mission it can be extremely frustrating

Lots of bugs outside of the actual core gameplay too, bike customization is a mess. Slots overwriting each other by themselves or just reverting into default setup. I've never seen DoF in replay actually working despite of my effort, shading randomly getting messed up etc.

So why am I recommending this? Because it still has no alternatives so far(outside of Pipe, which has more consistent physics but doesn't got the bike customization and replay editor) and once you get dialed in the satisfaction of finally nailing a perfect line or trick after hours of seat time is still there

If you want more polished experience you'll have to find more casual alternatives, or wait for a quite while unfortunately

really interesting concept with promising execution, the dev really put their utmost care to make a good foundation for upcoming stuffs to not repeat the mistakes of the early leaders of skate sim genre

keep in mind that it's not for everyone for sure tho. and the overall experience is much more closer to fingerboarding rather than an actual skateboarding due to the amount of control your "feet" get on your board and the lack of proper weight of the deck, although this might be intentional i mean the shape of the skateboard in this game itself looks closer to a fingerboard

there are some hiccups like the flick/scoop axis being bit off and the board rotating like it's doing a barrel roll, but unlike some reviews say consistency is there for sure- you might just want to practice the same trick enough amount of times even after getting a good grip of landing it clean

Monster truck games often somehow surprise me with unironically being good and this is definitely one of them.

You can't expect this game to be a straight up BeamNG level of simulation, but it does a great job with making the control accessible and responsive enough while keeping the feeling of driving a towering truck with overwhelming torque. The sense of "playing with momentum" is pretty damn great in this one and you can recreate a lot of tricks and saves that you see on the actual Monster Jam event in an intuitive way. Actually it really does impress me even more that this game is not a hardcore sim - because while just driving the truck around itself feels pretty much like a walk in a park the throttle control and weight shifting does share the same muscle memory you got from other sims.

Fictional open world tracks are carefully crafted with some nice layouts and terrain types. Although the waypoint events are often disorienting and on the later game they kinda just start becoming evil on level design, but there are some genuinely fun and memorable moments you can get outside of IRL based events still.

If you want some grab and go monster truck fun with surprisingly engaging and dare to say even deep controls, highly recommended on discount. Especially if you're not a fan of modding and clunky UIs in sim alternatives of monster truck driving.

I only drive EK9 because i love my silly little FWD hatch that goes fast but also because RWD car handling is definitely bit on a jank side compared to it's predecessor, Initial Unity.

Other than that I'm enjoying my time here, FWD handling feels actually really good and precise enough with some good balancing between arcade and sim side. It's mostly on an arcade side tho but still feels believable, if you enjoyed those old Codemasters games(like Grid) you'll pretty much like it

The roadmap is kinda slow but consistent and I can tell that the developer is still caring a lot for the game, graphics and visual directions are done within the best what they could give and i think it looks pretty good enough. I wish there was a photo mode though

Most of all the game really shines with just being actually different, unlike how saturated this genre feels most of the time(and that was also the reason why I kinda stopped playing racing games seriously). If you're focusing on sim racing detox / just trying out some different flavors that's the case I can really recommend this game!

nice compact map packed with interesting spots that you can get really creative, although the big quarter pipes brings me a question of why haven't they still even bothered to improve the transition skating till now

my main grief is actually just how it looks- the thing i LOVE about Session's base maps is how genuine they feel. streets are mostly true to their real life counterparts with a lot of things that most of the tourists wouldn't really want to see, like a pile of litters sitting down in the corner of the street or an entire block full of worn out concrete buildings. it gives so much life to wherever you go in this game even without the pedestrians but it's simply not the case with this DLC

a bunch of graffiti that are just stamped on the wall and floor texture rather than feeling like they're actually drawn by some locals around the place, lot of colors feel like they're just there because they obligatory had to, and most of the ramps and objects are conveniently placed for skating rather than blending into the place. honestly it has that "corporate punk" vibe all around which you can find in titles like Riders Republic and later THPS games(THPS wore it better tho)

this artistic direction actually gives me more concern about the future of this game because i believe a lot of people who've been here since the kickstarter~early access days should also got the appeal from how genuine the whole thing feels, and how it makes you see the street in the same way we do irl skating. if Session follows the same path with being another "Hot Topic: The Game" it's not only the problem of presentation and atmosphere but also the gameplay itself and the general experience

that's a lot of thoughts with a mere single DLC map from me but still, yea
