Contentious opinion I guess, but I really enjoyed this.

On the surface, it's a graphically stunning game with a great soundtrack and great visual development. Going immediately back to DA:I actually feels *dead* quiet by comparison. I thought the combat mechanics were a vast improvement over other entries - becoming a more fast paced and engaging experience; and even though I miss it I even grew to appreciate the reduced party size.

In terms of story - the game suffers from being *too* condensed in areas, leading to the relationship I pursued, and some of the other character story beats feeling like a speedrun of friendship. That being said, the vignettes are all very fun to play, with the main story wrapping up the loose ends of Trespasser in a way that I personally found granted good closure.

I'd actually liken DA:TV to a playable movie in a lot of ways.

If you come here looking for a gritty, choice-heavy, and consequence laden game like earlier entries in the series I'm afraid you'll be disappointed; but it's a fun story to play through with enjoyable characters, cool locations, and gameplay that I've gone back to for a second run.

I say give it a chance if you have the opportunity. It was a solid B- for me.

This has been such a lovely way to relax. I'd definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a low-commitment, zen garden type builder.

I haven't been this invested in a game in y e a r s. All of the characters feel complex and independent of the MC - and all of your actions, even the small ones have 'real' world consequences. It's refreshing to play a game that's this well written!

Great short experience. Unique puzzles kind of in the vein of Monument Valley. I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for something moderately challenging but low-impact.

Layers of Fear is to visual artists what The Shining was to writers. Atmospheric, anxious, and deeply tragic. Well played Bloober for the amazing ride.
