I mean come on it's Skyrim. What more needs to be said? Of course I would recommend this game.

One of my favorite games - I haven't put in as much time as I have with Europa Universalis 4 or Civ 4 but this game is definitely fun. One of the best sound tracks of any games I've ever listened to as well.

Overall, really good. I enjoy a lot of mechanics to learn and variables to manage in order to paint the map. There is room for improvement, mostly around more flavor between nations, pops, buildings, religions, & government types. I'm confident the devs can make this happen - the unit types have already been given more flavor in the two weeks since release, I assume based on feedback. This has a lot of great features I love about EU4 and Stellaris (nation development, pop management, government factions, etc), and I'm looking forward to more layers and depth added to those features in the future. I'm happy with my purchase.

Without a doubt the best game I've ever played. I didn't know how good gaming could be until I bought EU4. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the absolute highest I'd rank this game at least a 15. Yes. It's that good.

It has by far the steepest learning curve of any video game I've ever played, or any cognitive task I've ever done for that matter. I've played about 730 hours and I'm still learning new things about the game each time I play. So I'd recommend downloading the free Demo first to make sure you like it. The first 150 - 200 hours were a stressful process of learning the most basic game mechanics. From 200 - 650 hours I knew my way around the game enough to earn achievements if everything went well. After 650 hours I feel like I really started to know my way around the game.

Overall excellent. I played this game all through high school and now that there are Steam Achievements it's even more fun than before. It's also nice that the system requirements aren't too demanding since I have a 6 year old laptop I can take with me on business trips and play AoE2 in the hotel (provided the hotel has a decent internet connection).

I enjoyed this game the most of all the Civ franchise games (partly on account of it being set in the future). I enjoy how there's a bit more of a learning curve to this game than other Civ games, and how the tech web & affinities give the player dozens of different strategies. It gives the game more of a sense of replayability.

The only downsides would be the same I've experienced with all games on Steam (in other words specific to Steam, not the game), where sometimes the game has trouble launching so I have to try two or three times to avoid a Steam error. Occasionally my bad internet gets in the way of the game starting too.
