The latest updates allow for more replayability than when I first bought it. Some of the locations have multiple possible scenarios. It has a sad, survival theme and has a couple changing points throughout each gameplay. The choices you make along the way also effect the outcome of each person. The graphics are nicely done even though they don't look like much at first glance. There's alot of ways to survive through each run, and with a limited carry capacity you won't be able to do all of them at once, which gives it a pretty good challenge. Often you find your group surviving off of pure luck, finding a couple carrots just before starving. I haven't completed all of the survivors yet, but I got about halfway with them. It's not something I want to play frequently but if I get an urge for a survival game I usually fire this up. It's pretty original.

Early Access Review
This is definitely not what I was expecting. As far as I've seen, there are no dragons like those in the pictures. Each game lasts about 30 minutes, I think, and is extremely fast-paced. You do not pick your engrams, you start with all of them. Saddles are also not required, all tames are automatically equipped. The crafting is also different, for example you don't need spoiled meat to make narcotics anymore. Gathering and xp is also, as expected, insainely buffed. You'll constantly hear the levelup noise and a few seconds of gathering on plants will give you a ton of fiber to deal with. Most people seem to end up with a rex and couple mammoths when the end-game comes along, at which time it slowly closes, forcing players into the center.

I wanted to see more normalized gameplay, where you have to strategize to actually get kills and survive. This has no real strategies, just a couple template builds you can find online. The map is very limited in size so there's nowhere to really hide, plus the many 'drops' that occur will always spawn way above each player. So if there's a mammoth drop (yea, seriously, 4 mammoths fall from the sky for no apparent reason lol), you'll easily see where everyone is. It's too redundant for me and after a few games I found it quite boring.

Now if it were up to me, I'd make this thing the full map size, a few hours duration, and taming/xp/gathering to be set alot closer to normal, maybe 3x.

No strategy involved, it's a game of chance. You can barricade up a house, modify all your weapons and armor, breach a building that only 1 zombies been spotted in and end up fighting a horde of 20 that slaughter everyone. You can't retreat, you can't make any decisions in combat, you just read what happened that turn. On the other hand, sometimes a single survivor with a bat will kill 9 zombies on patrol.

All you really do in this game is look at the map, give up to 5 people orders such as being a lookout or search the building. You can also secure a building, this is about as in depth as the strategy goes. Once your done with the building, travel to another location on the map and hope your people don't get massacred when they arrive. Also, an annoyance, each survivor can only carry a few pounds... So 5 survivors might only get to carry 16 lbs of items. Traveling back and forth to move items from a secured house to your new secured location is very tedious and without much reward.

The game has not been updated for a couple years, the forums seem empty, and the game is buggy. The programming in it seems very old, it doesn't autosave and saving/loading is not intuitive. In fact the GUI is quite lacking but since it's not very complex it's pretty easy to figure out.

This is a relaxing game with decent graphics and sound. It's mostly focused on traffic management, and though that may sound boring, it's not. It's alot less complex than simcity games, and as far as traffic is concerned, much more detailed. It's the only city builder I've played where there is very little consequence for destroying huge areas of businesses or houses so you can make room for a new highway and a few dozen ramps, or whipe out half your business district so you can put in a nice train depot. It seems like new businesses will just pop right up and it doesn't cost a penalty. The biggest expense would be the roads in the above case. Want to move a $20k firehouse? There's move buttons for almost all special buildings so it only costs about 10% to scoot it over a block, or out of the way of an elevator walk-path. The day/night cycle, and now rain, gives it some nice ambience.

There are several good mods out there and tons of assets that you can subscribe to on the workshop. And though it's encouraged to do this, it will slow your computer with tons of assets, and the mods will prevent achievements from being earned, which is very annoying.

And though it feels complete, it also feels like it falls short for some reason. I think it's from a lack of real challenges. The hard mode simply raises prices 10%, but after playing a while you basically have unlimited money. And aside from population, there's no real goals in this game. There is no reason to have a huge manufacturing town or farming community. There's no tornados, riots, or even upset people for that matter. Happiness is almost always high unless you forget to give them water, or electricity. Overall I would rate this in between a thumbs up and down, but leaning towards up. 3 out of 5 star.

It's too much like working. I have to pay per month to play, going up against battleships that take like literally a year to train up for. constant 5% bonuses per level of dozens of skills, which takes actual weeks to get 5 levels on. And here I am, playing against 1+ year people who have like 20% better shields, armor, guns, etc - not to mension seemingly unlimited funds. So these bonuses to their crap makes a 1v1 situation impossible. Most of the fighting is in a blink of an eye, small frigates (the only thing you'll be flying for a while) are super squishy and usually targeted first. In addition to all of this, it's completely pay to win! People buy plex on the market (1 plex = 1 month gameplay = 1billion in-game currency). So a plex costs around $10-15 and people don't hesitate to buy these and sell them. I played for 2-3 weeks and was bored, it was literally like working rather than having fun. I made about 300million isk in this time and i was focused on making isk, exploring nullsec is the best way. It's extremely boring, tedious, campers everywhere, multiple accounts just to get eyes on a "neutral" and follow them around to gank... People will camp a spot for DAYS just to get one kill on some random person. I love sims and mmorpg's, i thought i'd be instantly addicted, the pay-to-win just is a deal breaker for me.

This game is great. I especially like that the developer is still actively building onto this game. Already there's been a couple of "expansion packs" that have been added as updates.

The game iteself is entertaining and I also find it relaxing. The graphics are simple but also well done. Prison sounds, ganks, each prisoner has their own attributes as well as potential problems, such as alcoholic or drugs, etc. Theres a good variety of "rooms" to build, and the game has quite a bit of depth to it. Ofc there's small things I hope they'll still expand on, but overall I'm quite impressed with this Alpha Release as well as the developer who clearly takes pride in his work and isn't out to fleece people.

I mainly wanted this for the single player missions. I find them somewhat disappointing. I think I'm halfway through the first one and there is very little building of units, it's all handed to you with instructions like attack point A, defend point B. Sometimes they even flank you! To top it off, there is no intel on the enemy, what units they have and where is all predetermined. I just feel very constricted with a very linear single-player.

What makes this game worse is the extra costs of in-game items. Generals, for example, cost a couple dollars each and have special abilities. So if you want to customize how you play, or give yourself an edge with certain unit types, you'll have to pay more for that. There's several types of things to pay for, and packages that are laughably over $100 to get a bunch of generals and such. I understand to some extent paying for skins that are not game-changing, but paying to get better generals turns it into a pay-to-win feel. I have no real interest in the multiplayer though, thankfully, but it's a huge thumbs down for the fleecing.

Seems to be one server with people in the UK. I think Chicago server fills up on Friday nights as well. The rest are usually completely empty. Game-play itself is pretty fun, great concept and a few years ago it was probably a great game. If not for the extreme lack of players this would be good. The multi-player is the only thing this game has going as well, the AI in single-player is worthless. Sadly, it's a dead game, which is the only reason I don't recommend it.

The game itself is very polished, which is rare for an indie developer now days. I definitely appreciated that and it's worth mentioning. I didn't come across any bugs or glitches though it did leave some things to be desired. The AI seemed to work well for this game. The basic concepts of survival was also fun, as were the quests. The graphics are simple but worked for this game rather well, same with the interface. I kept my community fairly small which I did prefer, it can quickly become a micromanaging nightmare after 10-15 members.

Though the combat system was simple, I didn't like the heightened speed during combat. Dying was so common and random during fighting with other "humans" you really had to save a lot and reload if the outcome wasn't desired. Fighting the infected was only annoying if running on fast-forward, since you'd easily get bitten in a second even with fast response. Again emphasizing on saving frequently. Also not sure about the replay value but I expect to give it a try. It felt quite linear the first run through. Victory conditions are kinda lame and winning was a bit of a let down as well. There's quite a few quests, I think every person has a "job" for you to do that increases your relation with them and their community.

Overall the good does outweigh the bad in this one. Try the demo out if you're in doubt.

It lacks an in depth tutorial and there's not much to be found online regarding gameplay mechanics. Once you get the hang of it, it gets fun. Expect to spend 10 hours or so getting the hang of it, if not more. This game is fairly bug-free. It has a campaign which is 'ok'. The campaign debriefings are intentionally cheesy, I think it sort of loses some realism there but it's also a bit funny, so it's a wash. It could stand to use some extra features that were included with the sequel, Sub Command, but I wouldn't recommend that one due to the overwhelming bugs.
