This game has several issues, beyond the biggest factor that it is a Gacha game.

The animation and detail of the game seems sloppy compared to prior PC releases (I know it's a mobile port, but it's on PC which means it competes with PC games).
The combat is simplified down making combat less interesting.

My biggest gripe is honestly the lack of voice acting though. I always take particular joy in the voiced sections of the Persona games so that I can kick back, relax and enjoy hearing the characters chat. I can't do that here, I have to focus in a read even when I'm trying to manoeuvre through the game (the opening sequence is a great example where I have to stop moving to read the text).

Can't see myself playing this, unless I get bored of replaying every other Persona game before this.

My oh my, everyone seems to be adding their two cents to this game since the 1896 update. I'll add my two cents as well, I guess.

TL;DR: It's still the tactical shooter it's always been, people just don't like change. Give it a go on sale, or on the free weekends when available.

I was initially sceptical, I traditionally hate games with bullet drop, the UI seemed iffy, and I didn't really know much else.

Since playing the game post update and seeing the devs response to genuine player criticisms, I'm happy to say that the game is and will continue to go strong! Here's some general notes as my thoughts give them.

Bullet Drop: For the majority of engagements I fight in (under 100m distance), there's no bullet drop, so it's had basically no impact on me. So my worries were for nought.

Increased burning speed: I'll admit, this one I still don't like. If the enemy duo kills my partner and decides to burn and camp the body, I just tell my friend, "Welp, you're dead for now, I'll try to get bounty". Burning has only gotten easier and easier to do in game, which was mostly fine, but now it's definitely tweaked too far. I'm not getting fast paced and intense fights, I'm having to sit in a bush because my friend is dead and burnt without me being able to respond. Then I act like a rat and just try to pick them off while they are distracted. Hunt has always been a game of ambush and single shots, and that's the best way to play it.

The UI change: Both hit and miss. I don't mind the new UI, I really don't! Boy they've made some oversights that screw it over though. Loadouts don't purchase properly, purchasing an item sends you back to the last menu, and some buttons are just bugged. Devs have already announced their fixes and the fixes sound good. These guys do listen to the players, especially given the current outcry.

New Content: The new wild boss is fun and different! I don't like that he seems to always spawn on the edge of the map, but the instant banish and guaranteed burn trait is cool! Probably just put a marker on the map once he's died, and give him more of a chance to spawn in the middle of the map so he doesn't die 2 minutes into the game.

The new map, also sick. I love the mines, the buildings have lots of fun and interesting entrances and peek holes, but GOD YES THE ELEVATION! My favourite areas to fight in have lots of levels of elevation, and the mountainous terrain makes fights so much fun. Buildings having 3 or more levels is great, I could keep going about the maps, but you get the idea.

The graphics update: I don't notice it too much, but I'm not a graphics guy. Looks good to me.

Crashes, Bugs, FPS drops: I've not had any issues, but they are actively putting out fixes to address these. They aren't just sleeping on it. It's a whole new engine, devs need time to address these. This is admittedly giving them the benefit of the doubt now (it's only been about 2 weeks since launch), and I'll definitely change my mind if it doesn't get better for the community within another month or so.

So, I'm overall very happy with the update!

I love this game, it's super fun and awesome.

Thankfully the monsters at SONY decided to revert their decisions forcing people to do things that weren't told to us when the game was purchased at the time. ♥♥♥♥ SONY.

However, God Bless Super Earth.

The price of the DLC seems to be a sticking point for other people, but for me the increase in price was less than $10 AUD, for what I feel like was one of the most well made and fleshed out DLCs I've played in a long time.

It's not entirely positive, I do feel like the mechanics between the Legendary Lords are too similar than they should be (there's almost no real difference between the factions, only the lord effects). These could be easily changed in later patches, and I'm a hopeful person. It's still not a deal breaker if this never changes, but it'd be lovely if it did.

End notes: if you are even remotely excited by the idea of evil dwarfs, then you should buy this and give it a go. I've found it to be loads of fun.

I can only agree with the mountains of other positive reviews.

This game has a beautiful pixel art style, which perfectly builds upon the simplistic puzzle gameplay.

It is a simple story, done masterfully. Rarely are stories such as these done with an appropriate tone.

it's a very touching story, I spent the last hour of the game crying, your mileage may vary on that.

100% recommend, if you think you may like it, you will.
