Would've already been a great game based just on the gameplay but then it also has to have a really emotional story, great worldbuilding, beautiful art and amazing music on top of all that

It's good! I don't know if I'd say it's a straight improvement over the original, it depends on what you're looking for. More dogs, less grappling. Better bosses, less crazy postgame stages. Generally better level design and flow, but over-reliance on "find 20 pickups to proceed". Grapple Dog was great, Grapple Dogs is also great. But maybe there's room for a third game with the strengths of both and the weaknesses of neither...

This game's crazy underrated. Great movement system, charming graphics, memorable soundtrack, lots of cute characters, and overall just a huge amount of content. Currently I've beaten the main story and some of the sidequests, but there's a whole bunch of levels I haven't even tried yet. Game deserves way more attention

EDIT: What the hell the postgame is so cool

This game is very obviously inspired by Ace Attorney, it's not shy about it. Though obviously, in a comparison to AA, it's not gonna come out favourably, that game's made by a very experienced team with a much bigger budget.

Tyrion Cuthbert, at many points, lacks polish, with things like spelling errors (although I hear many have been fixed), music playing/stopping at inappropriate times, unclear progression, asset reuse, things you'd come to expect from a low-budget title. But the one thing is really has going for it is its creative use of its fantasy setting. It makes good use of the (even) more supernatural elements that Ace Attorney can't use, including stuff like divination magic and cross-referencing people's magical tomes into the detective gameplay. There's some other very creative stuff it gets into that's too spoilery for a Steam review, but trust me, there's a ton of really clever ideas put into this game.

What I really hope for is that the sequel (which was teased!) makes use of the sales of this game to get a proper budget, iron out all the rough edges, and truly create something on par with Mr. Wright himself.

It's just really good for pixel art, and it gets updated with even more features regularly

This game is a lot of fun, very addicting and kind of relaxing. A lot more "zen" than Factorio, there's really no way to lose or even to get seriously set back. Make a comfy town and build a spaghetti mess of conveyor belts all over it. The UI and tutorial are a little unpolished, but if you can live with that, worth your time.

A fun twist on the deckbuilder formula. While comparisons to Slay the Spire are obvious, it's definitely not just "Slay the Spire but different". While Slay the Spire seems tightly and meticulously designed, Monster Train seems designed around breaking the game. You'll often find yourself saying "oh my god, this is so overpowered!", but the game is aware of this and expects you to bring out all your big guns. For comparison, an upgrade in Slay the Spire might make an attack do 9 damage instead of 7, an upgrade in Monster Train makes a spell do 22 damage instead of 2. Compared to Slay the Spire, decks tend to be focused around a few busted cards, rather than primarily being about consistency.

With 5 different factions, it's got plenty of different playstyles and things to unlock if that appeals to you. The multiplayer mode is a fun idea, and daily runs and challenges add some extra longevity too. I wonder if this game will have the same amount of staying power as Slay the Spire, or if it will become a "solved game" at some point, but it's definitely worth the price.

Deletes save files that haven't been touched for a few months. Horrible, horrible PC port, they didn't learn at all from the MHW PC release.

If you're on the fence, wondering "why would I pay money on this, Minesweeper is free," here's some things you can do in this game without any exaggeration:

- fight dozens of different monsters and bosses
- kill Santa Claus
- play a PvP autobattler style arena
- die, turn into a ghost, scare merchants to stay tethered to this world and win
- solve convoluted mysteries for endgame unlocks
- pay a guy 10 bucks to jump into a pit of skeletons (and get the money from his corpse)
- sell all your bones
- find insane combos to get infinite mana
- rescue ghosts from a slasher's basement
- get killed by a monster called something like "ORGYSEAMAN THE REDPILLED"
- eat hot sauce and die
- be a classy detective with noir quotes for basically every interaction and boss
- go to the beach and die of sunburn
- electrocute a whole stage to win instantly

There are so many things to do in this game. But you do have to like Minesweeper.
