Update #2:
It's been 6 years since I lasted played it. It's now out of Alpha and in full release.

There is FAR too many hotkeys. It's still rather janky. The lag on an official server is frustrating. I got 2/3 days out of it before getting bored and uninstalling again.

The community is the worst thing about this game. No mercy. Whatever your skill level, the game can be fun to a certain extent. The game is broken in many ways, and with constant updates and patches coming in to try and balance the game it can make playing the game a little more fun depending on what is broken on the paticular patch. As someone who plays the game several hours a day It fulfills my need for competition and allows me to tell people they are 'trash' or should 'stick to tetris' if I am having a bad day.

I'd suggest not playing this game. There is so many things wrong with the game at the moment. It isn't beginner friendly, it's losing its older player base, the battle pass is a cash cow for Valve only, there is hardly anything worth grinding for from it, we're currently a year over schedule for a season MMR reset, the new hero's being made and the direction the game is going in is completely wrong in my opinion.
I used to look forward to playing this game with friends. Now I can hardly find anyone to play with, when I do want to play.
The game needs a complete overhaul, and I dont think Valve are the company to do it.
