The game has potential to be a good game to chill, but I've seen many red flags from the developer. Originally, this game was named Mirror 2: Project Z which is totally unrelated to Mirror 2: Project X which is also totally unrelated to Mirror 1. We went from an 18+ match 3 game to THIS. Hell, Mirror 2: Project X is not even an 18+ game and they decided to make it a sequel to Mirror 1. Ok, so then they rename this game to Novastella Island while also rename or change? the developer to Nova Studio. I don't know what happened to Kagami Works from being the developer of one of the best 18+ game to being a sketchy indecisive company.

This game is nothing like Mirror 1, the only resemblance is that both are match 3 games and that's it. I was expecting some classic old characters to be back because I saw Ana and Mafercca in the kickstarter trailer but then out of nowhere they changed direction and uploaded the official Mirror 2 trailer which completely changed the genre from fantasy to sci-fi creature containment ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. From Mirror 1 I got the impression that every world is magical with dragons, witches, demons ,etc with magical attacks that looked like it seriously hurts a lot (for example leah’s whip) and yet in Mirror 2 my only means to attack is by utilizing psychological warfare on my enemies (rational and sentiment attacks?) to deal emotional damage. It's not satisfying at all. Who thought that was a good idea? Talk about a bad first impression. I wish the first world we go in is the regular fantasy type and not some SCP containment breach ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I also don’t like how I can’t keep my upgrades and currency because I can’t get the feeling of progression. The game feels like it’s leaning towards the story aspect more than the actual gameplay, but did a poor job of doing it because I suddenly get thrown into it rather than taking it slow and having some nice developments. I personally think that Mirror 1 did a better job at telling the story than this game. Granted, it’s not the best, but it’s way better than Mirror 2. Don’t get me started on the h-scenes and how each time you attack, your opponent loses a part of her clothing (which is the core elements of Mirror 1 that this game doesn’t have) but maybe it’s because they’re in early access so I can’t be too hard on that.
Either way, this game shouldn’t be called Mirror 2 because it’s a totally different experience, a rather disappointing experience. I can understand if this is a different game unrelated to Mirror 1, but as of right now I’m not recommending this to anybody.

It can be hard for those that are pampered by modern video games.
