This game is beautiful! From the pixel art, to character design, to writing, Fields of Mistria has thoroughly exceeded my expectations! I don't believe it's fair to compare FoM to Stardew Valley. It's a farming sim that shares some similar elements, but I would argue there are lots of mechanics that remind me of Animal Crossing.

Overall, the game has its own identity and is a breath of fresh air in the cloud of over saturated, half-baked farming sim games that have tried to piggyback off the success of other recent farming sim games.

I adore the character customization. Pronouns are inclusive of nonbinary identities. You can breed PINK farm animals. The combat is dynamic and refreshing. The map feels large but not overwhelming, and every NPC feels like they have a place in the world. There is much to explore and I'm thoroughly excited for the game's full release!!

The Sims is a great franchise. EA is just a greed driven company and TS4 definitely feels it. I recommend looking at YouTube video reviews for each pack/expansion/kit before purchasing. Lots of them are buggy on release-- some are game breaking bugs.

The base game is fun, just lackluster when compared to its predecessors. I still recommend the game nonetheless, especially because it's free now. Only purchase extra content when on sale-- none of them warrant the price tag that's stuck to them.
