This game is unlike any other I've played. It's not really a game. It's a unique and mature experience, definitely not for everyone, but worth every minute!

A great game that stands on its own two feet. I came in expecting a clone of VS, and got ambushed with something that has much more merit, that feels true to the IP roots. Rock on!

[Post-patch 1.0.2.15 edit]: Most of the issues I've been encountering are now fixed <3

It kills me to leave a negative review because the game is good, and fun, and feels balanced, with a lot of content to show for itself.

However, I've encountered multiple game-breaking bug -- getting hung dry during a boss fight where the turn simply won't finish (twice), or booting the game to be granted with a "your filesave is corrupted" (thrice) -- given the very hard and tactical nature of the game, it leaves a very bitter taste in the mouth to get 3hrs playthroughts simply wiped.
For a released product (not early access when I played!) this is simply unacceptable.

WarTales manages to spin something deeply unique and satisfying while drawing inspiration from a lot of different places.
It's unlike anything I've played before and yet, it felt instantly familiar.
It ranges from Heroes of Might and Magic, to XCOM and Darkest Dungeon -- and so many other games in between. If that sounds even mildly interesting to you, give it a try.

Stalker meets This war of Mine

Chernobylite is a surprising game. It's an amalgam of different gameplays, features, and even genres. On paper it sounds very odd, and in reality it works surprisingly well. There's a bit of everything, and while your mileage may vary, it offers a very good balance of everything. Everything is wrapped up in a beautifully crafted atmosphere. I feel I got more that I bargained for.

The base-building/management part is rather satisfying, the survival aspects are "asynchronous" (This war of mine style), meaning you get the good of psychological pressure, without minute-to-minute micro-management.

Overall, the gameplay is chunked in way that allow you to focus on a single type of experience at once (during mission, you play a more classical/stealth FPS, etc), meaning each different gameplays don't step on each other's toe, allowing you to effectively don't care so much about the part that don't interest you so much, if any.

It's very hard to describe exactly what Tchernobylite is, because it's a lot of everything at the same time. It ends up being its own, rather new & pleasant frankenstein of games; without loosing its focus.

I warmly recommend it, if you're into Stalker-like games; this one sets a new bar for the future contenders in the genre !

If you want a casual/arcarde-ish car game, RPG-esque progression & grind, a fair amount of content and very decent customization options this is for you.
Or if you need a nostalgia fix when you think too much about how good NFS : Underground was, this is for you too.

+ some cool day/night mechanics that allows you to greatly modulate your experience through a single playsession -- either smooth and relaxed, or violent neon with aggressive police chases.

It's a toy more than a game, but one you can play and experiment endlessly with.
