UPDATE: They fixed a lot of issues. Will update my review in due time but for now all I got to say is: Play with friends if possible, avoid playing with randoms on weekends if possible, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings when parents allow their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ kids to play videogames and they come in to grief and teamkill. If possible also, turning off crossplay can filter out a lot of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥/kids at the cost of less players.

So tired of half-assed buggy games. This game has been out for some time and it's still buggy as hell. Finishing a mission lately is like a miracle. If you don't get killed or trolled by stupid manchildren, the bugs will prevent you from finishing a mission, like:
-Can't interact with mission terminal
-Can't call extract
-Shuttle coming to pick up fuel never shows up
-Game freezes before end screen
-Message: "The current network connection has been lost"

That is on top of all the other issues like:
-Getting stuck under a dead enemy
-Getting stuck under a vehicle
-Visual glitches where you are a flying torso
-Visual glitch where you are constantly prone
-Visual glitch where you can't "un-aim" down the sight even if you switch weapon (and your gun is invisible to make things worse)
-Visual glitch where characters stretch over the screen
-Dying from a 1m fall
-Catching on fire all of a sudden for no reason
-Mission package (egg, high value sample) disappearing and reappearing back at the start, then once you walk across the map to get it, it disappears from your radar and is nowhere to be seen

If it was only either the game-breaking glitches, it would still be "playable", but the fact that devs also do nothing about the toxic gamers kills the game. There is a "report player" section but whatever reason you select, it says that "you can't report players for this reason". Even with video proof obviously showing these players are toxic, you can't do anything.

Crashes on startup, wasted money and it's too late to refund.
Had to leave the game running in non-VR mode so I could leave a review to warn people not to buy it.

Don't get this game if you have the Meta Quest. The controls are quite weird and were made for other controllers I suspect.
On the first task where you have to roll a cigarette, you have to "roll your thumb" over the touchpad somehow (what does that even mean?). I tried all buttons and moving my thumb around and eventually manage to roll a cigarette but I have no idea how and have never been able to do it again.

The whole "thumb" thing is weird. You have grip buttons, trigger buttons, A,B,X,Y and for some reason the game is not using those, instead forcing you to use the joystick in a weird way. Even the main menu is weird, still not sure if you enter in a menu by dropping the white character on the menu, touch the menu or point at it. The fact that it slowly fades to where you are going doesn't help making it clear.

Extremely fun casual game with enough depth to hit the sweet spot between too short or too long, between too casual or too complicated.

THE GOOD
  • Amazingly fun
  • Shortcuts opening once you reach a certain place so you don't have to parkour or walk back
  • Puzzles are LOADS of fun, just the right amount of hints. What I like the most is because there are multiple in the same area, you can work on one then find the solution to another meanwhile.
  • Music fits perfectly
  • Draw on the map? Yes please! This is the best feature of the game IMO. When you are blocked by something it it looks like you don't have the tool yet, you can mark it instead of forgetting about it and never going back to it.
  • No fall damage
  • Sounds just right, impact sounds satisfying, enemy warning sounds, cute sounds, everything!
  • Well-done game design. spawn enemies after you get abilities to test them, spawn enemies to show you the way, etc.
  • Chest detector really nice way to help you get 100% completion without walkthrough or wasting hours
  • Unlocking a new area is jsut so satisfying and exciting, not knowing what you will find next
  • Amazing theme, being small in a kid's sunny backyard. Really charming and sparks your sense of adventure like crazy. I felt like I was a toy in my backyard from when I was a kid
  • Parkour and trying to get to weird places where you think you're not supposed to be.. only to realize there is a chest there

THE BAD
  • Not always obvious where you should not go. Sometimes you spend a lot of time doing parkour then slide off flat surfaces where you should be able to stand
  • Zoom or binoculars would have been nice.
  • A few upgrades are only available after you finish the game, quite useless.
  • Had to search online for a few puzzles because certain mechanics were not obvious (for example fleas do not follow a purple sponge, but will follow a purple teleport ball. Or I didn't know you could shoot through electricity to have a charged shot. Several other issues like this)
  • (spoiler warning) Final boss: Why did it have to be orange instead of pink in order for flies to eat it? Especially since flies need to be pink (not lava color)

Early Access Review
Fun game, but the shortness of it coupled with the issues would make me give it a neutral score if it was possible.

THE GOOD
  • Free
  • Dev is very responsive, had an issue with the Quest 3, they fixed it in a day
  • Very satisfying gunplay
  • Dev lets you use guns how you want; One hand, 2 hands, reload manually, reload from belt, carry 2 huge guns on your belt or 2 small guns
  • Reloading by sliding gun on your belt is a nice addition, You have no idea how satisfying it is to shoot with 2 sawed-off shotguns, eject, reload from the belt and flick them closed

THE BAD
  • Feels like zombies know where you are at all times, so you can't be silent and sneak, or run away from them.
  • Not a fan of point at the gun to grab. Useful if they're on the ground but I'm always struggling to pick up something on a table. Wish it was an option

Fun game, but the shortness of it coupled with the issues would make me give it a neutral score if it was possible.

THE GOOD
  • Gun models are very well-done, you can see the details when looking up close
  • Zombie bullet damage is very satisfying
  • Environment damage when shooting guns is fun
  • Guns sounds are decent, especially the magnum types
  • Interesting reload mechanics using a single hand, encourages you to double-wield

THE BAD
  • Not enough shotgun ammo.. in Arizona??

THE UGLY
  • Strange bugs with guns. Sometimes you can only grab from your belt using your right hand, sometimes you can't grab it at all
  • Only one shotgun with 3 shells, handles like a handgun and has a very strange reload mechanic
  • Smooth locomotion extremely buggy. Getting stuck in tiny rocks while zombies chasing you, zombies have a huge hitbox blocking your way, can't go through some parts
  • Annoying way the game forces you to fight the horde in the open by putting invisible walls going through hallways or up some stairs

Fake marketing, game doesn't work at all in VR. Developers should remove the "VR supported" from their game page, it's dishonest. Game launches in VR but interaction doesn't work, controllers do nothing and you have to force quit the game.
There is a message to recenter and enable/disable oculus but the input does absolutely nothing.
tried running the game in Steam VR and natively, neither works.

Extremely buggy VR, probably even worse than DCS. You need to point at menus with your left hand, but click with the trigger of your right hand. Then after the mission, pointing doesn't work anymore and you must use the joystick.

In mission, the joysticks work for some things, but not everything so you need to use a mix of your keyboard and headset controllers.

So tired of these games saying: "VR supported" but it barely works, you just have visuals and all the rest is buggy as hell

Extremely buggy half-assed VR. Could not even take off with the plane. You can grab the stick and some controls to the left, but all the rest of the control panel is static so you somehow need to alternate between keyboard and your headset controllers. I can't imagine how much of a pain it must be mid-flight.

The game is also very sluggish for its visual quality, it takes AGES to load for so-so graphics of a flat landscape with no objects. GTA 5 loads 10x faster and looks a lot better. And it's 126 GB.. to the trash

Don't buy if you are getting this game for VR. It does NOT work with the Meta Quest 2 or 3 and it's too late for me to get a refund.
Game starts and shows up ok in VR, but the controllers don't work, had to force-quit the game. Not sure if it's a thing with Beat Hazard as I always had issues with the controllers with Beat Hazard 1 as well, always needed to fiddle around with Steam Input to make my official Xbox One controllers detected by the game.
