Rimworld is a great game if you are a fan of detailed DnD style story telling - it bills itself as a "story generator." The level of detail in game mechanics and story generation are extremely impressive.

Great game with unique shooting mechanics. Think XCOM plus aming trick sniper shots to bounce off three walls and take out the bad guys.
