They got rockets, but no Space Shuttles. They're all in museams now.

NASA still has unused rockets right? I thought they just cut funding down to about 5 or 10 percent

AUUUUGH. I've been working on a KSP Space Shuttle using b9 parts, and this little ♥♥♥♥♥♥ refuses to work. Launch works fine up until 85% of the SRB fuel is spent, then I get a sudden phantom force inducing a roll, which I can cope with, and yaw, which I can't. Every launch so far has failed. My orbiter-only version, that I use for runway approach and landing tests, has excellent aerodynamic stability, but somehow manages to very reliably tear itself apart about half a second before touchdown. I think I understand now why NASA eventually scrapped the Space Shuttle program.

b9 aerospace, a major parts mod for Kerbal Space Program, just got a major update with lots of new stuff. It is now in experimental release 5.0. As soon as a stable release -- and an HX-series cockpit -- is released, I'll be updating to the new version. The good news: lower RAM usage and big-ass space battlecruisers. The bad news: even if old b9 ships are 100% compatible, I'll be deleting ALL of my previous vehicles, from the good old reliable "Cumulus" to the epic new "Huracan" models. I'll try to build new, improved versions of as many as I can, and will be doing everything with the FAR realistic aerodynamics model in mind.

Of course, I'll be designing new planes much less frequently now that I'm in college, but I'll be taking any opportunities I can get!
