A perfect balance of a cute little twin-stick shooter, crafting, and a black despair of a Russian post-apocalypse.

I love the graphics and animations of the forest: the sounds of animals, birds and noises; the foliage; how line-of-sight changes the view. I love the tiny characters, while you can clearly see if they are applying bandage, drinking or smoking.

Recently, people were moaning and changing their reviews to negative because of a weapon rebalance. Some weapons no longer can shoot across the entire screen, bullets from a short-range firearms just disappear. People HATE it when they had something, like ability to use a single gun at any distance, and then you take it away.

I still like the balance. Game gets more interesting when you are forced to make hard choices. Perhaps they could have handled it better, like make short-range weapons super-inaccurate at long range. But the game is still great as it is.

My only problem is controller support on Steam Deck - it didn't start, and I have to control it with a mapped keyboard and mouse. It's not too bad, except for inventory management with your thumb is terrible. I hope for a better controller support soon.

D**mRL and AliensRL are some of the top roguelikes, immensely playable and replayable. I’ve been enjoying them for years and backed JH on Kickstarter.
JH is a cross-over and a further development of these, with controls simplified but not dumbed down.
3D graphics, music and speech only make the game better.
Whole-heartedly recommended.
