A little bit dated on the graphics, but the characters are on par or better than Mass Effect 2.

Contrary to Mass Effect 2 though the story of the game is centered on your companions, who are key to all three acts.

If you liked Mass Effect 2 and enjoy RPGs, this is worth a try.

WARNING:

The DLCs only work if you log into your EA account in-game. Be wary, password requirements between Origin and the game are not the same. My password contained a semicolon, and while I could log in to Origin, the game gave me an "Illegal Character" warning. I had to change the password.

Without the log in, the DLCs show up in the menu, but are marked as "unauthorized" and the content doesn't show up.

Puzzle game. Puzzles and visuals are phenomenal, but the whole experience is a letdown as the ending is just quite literally "it was all just a dream lol". And I am not exaggerating here: after telling you that this was all just a dream, the game proceeds to reset your game (including even your settings, in my case mouse sensitivity and FOV) and quits to desktop..

If you expect nothing from the ending, pick this up for some slow and relaxing puzzle solving (though the puzzles ARE REALLY HARD sometimes). However, the game builds up towards the final ending only to reveal what I mentioned above, which is a huge letdown. On contrary to Firewatch, where the ending is there to make a point, no such point is being made in The Witness. Here, it just feels pretentious.

TL;DR: If you are warned about the ending, you'll enjoy it. If you are going in blind, be ready for a disappointment.

Not complicated, but fun enough to relax.

Expect Tomb Raider (the reboot - Tomb Raider, Rise of ... , Shadow of ... ) gameplay with similar exploration, animations, and world traversal. The combat however is a lot more fun, reflex and skill based, and very satisfying. Good boss fights, too. Game can get surprisingly, almost Dark Souls-level, hard.

PS. Godlike soundtrack that is absolutely true to the original Star Wars themes. Either it was done by the same studio, or a different composer outdid themselves when trying to capture the original sound. Feels like sitting in a Star Wars movie, in the best way possible.

Very good historic simulator.

Combat can get clunky and tedious at times, but since this is a simulator, it's to be expected (it's a feature).

Twin Peaks in game form with a couple of modern culture touches.

The grind and the rogue-likeness are off-putting, but if you manage to survive through that (or cheat around it. In this game it is worth it) you find one of the best worlds in gaming, imo. Immersion, level of detail, the stories, the atmosphere are on a level that rivals the best universes out there.

Honestly, this game is worth all of your patience.

Not a fan of the genre, in fact, that's the first game I play in it because everything else just didn't interest me.

I picked it up for the graphical art, but stayed for the gameplay and the world. It's worth experiencing.

Great single player game with a big sandbox world. However gets a negative review from me after Rockstar banned OpenIV, resulting in the mods I used being illegal in Single Player.

Online gameplay is meh at best

The story of the main game is a bit dissappointing, as the developer didn't have enoguh time and resources to fully flesh out all quests and side stories. Some characters were killed off, some stories abruptly ended. That said, only people who are very knowledgeable about the world will notice that.

Other than that, the game is truly flawless in any regard.
