Still 4 chapters in but I'm having a blast. Chapters are quite short but it's just fan service galore.

Wesker has more presence. And a throwback of sorts to a line so emblematic I had to pause to laugh and clap.

You'd have to be an insufferable purist not to love this.

I'm a big RE fan and my one gripe with RE4 was that, tonally, it didn't feel like a true RE game. Well, on top of evolving the combat of a what I thought was a perfect action horror game, they've elevated everything esle. From the story to the pacing right down to that Resident-Evil-ness.

Better, more engaging puzzles? Check
Bigger backtracking and metroidvania exploration? Check
More nail biting risk-reward choices? Check
Creepy ass hallways (and not just the Island Lab)? Check, check and check

End of year discourse is gonna be on wether remakes should be allowed to win GOTY, because this game is, without a doubt, gonna be on most nominees lists. Mark my words.

I didn't think this game was for me. I dislike bullet hells and/or chaotic gameplay altogether.

But I saw glowing reviews and it was extra cheap on my region so I said "eh, why not". I've played it non-stop since then. It's like the first time I played Tetris or Super Mario Bros. That is to say, all self restrain went out the window.

It's an OK port to one of the best videogame experiences of all time.

Sure, textures didn't get the upgrade I wanted and you can notice the compresion on in-game videos, but the game is still an experience in and of itself.

I'm enjoyng this game so much I had to write this and drop my two cents:

Please give Resistance a try before writing it off.

Yes, the game is very flawed and comes with a bunch of frustrating design decisions. It's P2P so it can get laggy, there's no anticheat or report system and there's no true matchmaking so there's low level vs high level players matches regularly and you'll be falling on both sides.

And yet, reviews aren't completely negative because the concept and the game itself is fun. Survivors each feel distinct and with their own personality. Building the best Valerie or January is a lot of fun.

Masterminds are equally fun. You feel your hands tied at first with the default deck, but as you unlock more and more cards, you start visualizing combos and synergies and it's such a kickass feeling when it all comes together.

I'm barely 40 hours in and and I'm itching to keep playing. For all it's flaws, this game is tasty.

The only problem with DAMNED is the lack of players. If you play this with 4 or 5 friends, it will be the scariest fun you'll have with them. Trust me.

This game may not have the looks, and it may be a bit buggy, but jesus freaking christ if it acomplishes what it sets to do: Scare the ♥♥♥♥ out of you and the survivors and make the killr/monster player laugh like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ maniac.

One thing this game does which I feel Dead by Deadlight doesn't is make monsters and survivors act like they're in a horror movie not by forcing such behaviour as mechanics but by crafting survivor goals and monster abilities that inadvertedly and subtlety make you behave that way. One monster teleports and only atacks once a bar is filled by looking at or being close to the survivors, so you need to stalk them for a while and another one can swap between an ethereal form (which makes him super fast but he can't see survivors unless they're really close to him) and a physical form (that makes him super slow but able to attack) whenever he's ot of survivor's sight, making for some intens cat and mouse situations.

Too bad this didn't sell as well as other asymmetrical horror games. This is such a hidden gem.

Thumper is to rythm games what Ghosts n' Goblins was to plataformers and Dark Souls to action adventure games:

It's hard, unforgiving, scary, intense and will leave your hands sweaty, your thumbs numb, your heart racing and your inner masochist asking for one more level.

Visually, it's like when you have a nightmare during a night of intense fever. Weird and unsettling.

I love it so much.

This AG Racer is laser focused on 2 things:

1) A brutal sense of speed: Never since the last dozen or so races in Need for Speed: Underground 2 has a game reminded me that I can, in fact, stop breathing and blinking for 2 and a half minutes without even noticing it.

2) Giving you complete control over your ship: The ships hover without ground traction (so consider that or say hello to the wall), slopes will make you lose speed (so tip the tip of your ship downwards as you go down) and inside loops will grind the ♥♥♥♥ out of your ship against the track (so tip your ship up). It's so nerve wrecking it should earn this game the tag of Survival Horror.

So pretty much is like driving (a Ferrari at full speed without brakes) on (very hard) drugs. I imagine.
