TL;DR: excellent puzzle gameplay, visuals and music; annoying technical issue, most likely irrelevant for you.

So, indeed the core gameplay is wonderful, really cool. Puzzles are interesting and tricky at times. And Linelight looks and sounds truly great. It's very close to being a perfect puzzle game!

The only issue I had is that the game doesn't exit properly. Idk, maybe it's a weird combo of old Unity engine used and my Linux Wayland setup, but the game doesn't close its window after I prees "Quit" menu item. The game's process doesn't even respond to SIGKILL / SIGTERM at all. Has to click "Stop" in Steam client to stop it. So, my actual playtime is at least a few hours less due to this hanging process. This is the only Unity game among many-many others I played on Linux that has such weird issue ¯\_(^^)_/¯

As a player I can't recommend this game. I've played Machinarium (2009) ~10 years ago and it's better than Milo in every aspect and simply much more fun to play. Since that time I've also played other Amanita Design games (Botanicula, Chuchel, Samorost 1-3, Pilgrims, Creaks), they're similar and surely much better than Milo too.

Initially I've given 2 kids (9 and 10 y.o.) to play Milo, but they got bored in half an hour (~half of the game). I've played Machinarium and Botanicula with one of these kids when he was much younger, this fact says for itself.
Later I've played Milo myself and you see my opinion on it. I love cats and have been living with them more than Steam exists, but this game about a cat is boring.

It's an okay student project or as a first commercial one, but doesn't bring anything new or interesting to the table. Good luck next to the devs.

The game is awesome and I like it very much, it's really fun to play. Love the ambient sounds of wind, water creaks, birds chirping and bike tires riding the gravel or when you hit the breaks, it's true ASMR.

But sadly there is no Linux version of the game, although it's mentioned on Kickstarter not once:

I'll change my review once this fatal flaw is fixed.

The best game where cartoonish angry potato, crying onion and psychotic carrot can kick your ass :D

Cuphead is awesome. It gets harder to surprise seasoned gamers, but Cuphead delivers, I had much fun playing it.

Visuals and sound are top notch, bosses are hard and interesting to master, feels satisfying to finally see "Knockout!" and get rank S after so many tries.

Once you become a master and get S ranks everywhere, you can even visit old friend from another country and help him beat the game in coop, just like I did :P

Some downsides for me:

• no Linux native version. It runs flawlessly via Proton, but if a hobbyist can make a working one from Mac OS version of the game (search 'rutracker Cuphead Unity3D*'), then why can't the devs do having all the sources?
  
• no 21:9 out of the box (it's good for walking on islands, run'n'gun levels and some bosses), but a quick hex edit helps, see PC Gaming Wiki[pcgamingwiki.com]
