Is this a good pirate game? Yes.
Why?

Well first of all, i skipped Skull & Bones for a long time, i was hyped for it since it first got announced but after they rebuild the entire game three times before release it felt odd and i kinda lost hope in it. After finally releasing they got massive hate, especially for calling it a "AAAA"-Game and yeah that hate was valid no joke. But Skull & Bones is still a pretty good game, the biggest problem for the player majority is; they expect a Black Flag MMO and Skull & Bones is just not an Assassins Creed title and that's good. Because Ubisoft actually created a new title aside from their already established franchises.

If you ask me, which game comes near in gameplay-ability to Skull & Bones i would tell you Red Dead Online.
The game feels very much like RDO but with actual content and many updates. Of course there are no horses haha but we got the ships for that aye? And the ships are fantastic, they feel good, the customization options are great and the weapons feel STRONG. Thats what i like to experience in a pirate game. Character customization is rather limited, costumes and clothing options are big and theres a wide variety in that. So thats fine for me. What feels great is that you dont go to a Hat-Vendor and can see or purchase every available hat, no you find them all over the place. Through enemies, bosses, missions, exploration, plunder, many ways to find your equipment of all kind.

The helm is a big, nice establishment for you to enjoy especially late game. Where you can earn tons of mats and currencies. I'm not really deep into it yet but its a nice business to keep an eye on while doing everything else.

$40 is okay (now) but if you can get it cheaper, do it. The game has many bugs and fixes are slow sadly. What troubles me the most is the walking, it feels like there are alpha walls in many paths that shouldnt be there. But i hope that gets fixed or atleast re-worked with the autumn season/update since the roadmap shows that we get on-land combat. Keep in mind there is no combat aside from naval combat yet, so no flashy swords or guns on your captain.

Afterall it feels good now and i'm glad i picked it up during sale for a few bucks.

This game is getting review bombed by people that either copy paste their ♥♥♥♥ or can't read and i'm tired of it because the game is actually good. The only real negative point for me at the moment is that it's actually too easy. Clapping Level 28 enemies as a Level 7 Player just feels wrong and the AI of early enemies isn't a threat either. But that's it, that's the bad site of it for now. I won't question the skin market or anything, the game is free and they need to make an income somehow, so that's fine by me.

The game has a lot of variety in gameplay mechanics which can be good or bad, you can do whatever you feel like. Clap hordes? Do it. Build a beautiful detailed house? Do it. Drive around for fun and explore? Do it. You want Pals that help you around? Gotch u homie. The map is nice, the enemies look interesting, graphics are fine tho. Haven't encountered game breaking bugs so far, just go stuck twice because of my own adventurism.

Overall? Solid 8/10
Great start without big problems which is really uncommon today. Addictive.

So i started this game, knowing it will be cancer as f**k but i gave it a shot anyway.
Well...

I was right. But you know you always have to fight cancer, so i kept on fighting.

It's like Second Life without real money. Many minigames that are actually fun and you can find p0rn in like every random home. 10/10
