Once the initial chuckle at the wonky physics has worn off, this game really has nothing going for it.
Something for youtubers to "react" to, clickbait in videogame form...

It took a while to actually play this game, given all the hate aimed at it made me scared to touch it.

But after 160 hours.... I just want to know how it's so hated? Sure there's bugs... It's a Bethesda game, bugs are expected, and almost part of the charm at this point. Sure the planets and space seems empty... It's space, what did you think was up there? It's vast and empty, it's rare to find a planet even remotely capable of life, let alone thriving.

I see a lot of comments that the game runs like garbage, and to be fair, my first 3 hours were awful, full of lag and audio issues. Turns out running it on a disk based hard drive will do that, upgrading to a solid state completely removed all those issues, so I won't neg on BGS for a user-end problem.

The visuals look stunning for a Bethesda game, their environmental story telling is still the best I've experienced in this format. I enjoy the stories you can experience from your companions and many other NPCs, and the freedom to carve your own path. Ship and outpost design can feel daunting and frustrating at first, but so rewarding once you're done. The factions have life and character of their own that feels natural, probably more so than Fallout 4's factions.

Basically, despite the expected bugs and occasional performance hiccups. This is a game I'd happily replay over and over, and while it won't top Skyrim or Morrowind, it's found a permanent place among my favourites.
