Do I recommend mobile gatcha games ever? No. But if youre of healthy mind, enjoy some nostalgia, NEVER get addicted to microtransaction cancer, then maybe this is a fine thing to sink some time into for free.

I've been messing with it on android since launch, account lvl34. Its fine. My account linked fine here.

Cant say I cared for the new story bits, or rehashing old ones in disassembled bite sized chunks. Its a mindless mobile grinding game where you earn neat outfits and see all your weapons rendered in nice detail.

Technically speaking, this is clearly NOT just a Bluestacks style emulated Android game. Its running flawlessly at a 120fps cap, 1440p, and using only 33% of my 3070ti GPU. Good job there.

There's no real controller support. Tons of UI elements have keyboard assignments, often very illogical. Folks may make some good Steam controller profiles soon to make this tolerable. For now, its a big fat mobile gaming interface and you will be clicking everything.

As far as mobile to steam ports go, it's slightly above average. Typically they aren't games of this tier, graphically, so at least its running great and I see no bugs yet.

Why did they never bring that FF7 First Soldier game to PC? At least that was a real game. Instead they just killed it when people realized they didnt wanna play a complicated third person shooter on phones with 20 touch screen buttons to worry about.

Early Access Review
Bought the game not realizing its currently a dead game and you will just be matched with bots. Censorious mods on the forum try to hide this fact. They banned me for asking why the player count is 99% less than peak.

And remember. Mods do it for free.

Edit: In response to the dev below, that's a whole lot of word salad, but nothing changes the fact that you guys suspend people for talking about how dead your game is, in terms of player count. Just because it hurts your feefees, doesn't mean you should abuse your powers. You got my money. How about you keep your mouth shut and count your blessings? The game is at an all time low of 183 players today. This is not enough to sustain it in most playable pinged locations.

This game should immediately go free2play and give gifts to players who stupidly paid for it.

How have I not reviewed the title that converted me to primarily being a PC gamer?

Oh right. Because I refused to sign up for Steam for the first year or so, holding strong to my Sierra bond. Whats funny is even with this 25th anniversary update, they only halfass, or half-life-ass, imitate the original main menu. Yes it animates, but as soon as you click anything, you are robbed of the original majesty of the Sierra Half-Life menu structure. Zoomers will never understand. Youtube it.

So I told myself I had no right to drive around with a classic Mega on my vehicle's front plate in real life, if I didn't just go ahead and pay Capcom for their glorified ROM packs such as this one, so here I am. Capcom: Take my money if only so you know we want more Mega.

I highly advise folks check my review on the first Mega Man Collection, as much of it applies here. What you are getting is essentially emulated copies of 4 games, at least in terms of 7 and 8. I am not sure what console they sourced 9 and 10 from, but they are basically games crafted to mimic the NES limitations very carefully. It doesn't really matter.

The additional gameplay is once again in terms of extra challenges. Unlike Collection 1, I am not entirely sure if the extra challenge time travel hop gateways are just glorified save states or what. Perhaps in this collection they actually did build these modes from scratch. They are impressive for what they are, but they are once again a mode I honestly just don't care about.

The biggest letdown, and something I may have forgot to point out in Collection 1, is you can no longer watch your friends' challenge attempt replays, and you can definitely not TAKE CONTROL MIDWAY on their attempts. I have to admit: Collection 1 had a revolutionary feature in that. They must have a server that hosted millions of gameplay recordings. Not the case here. Now you can only see their score. Basic leaderboard functions.

This was my first time playing MM7, first time finishing 8, and first time playing MM10 as Bass. I mostly enjoyed these new experiences. I still hate how horizontally slow the gameplay of 7 and 8 are. 9 and 10 are fantastic throwbacks to the NES purity, but with modern refinements like Auto's shop, and boss weakness logic. Not only can bosses have multiple weaknesses when it makes sense, but sometimes their weakness is not actually hitting them with the weapon directly, but using the weapon appropriately, like making ice spikes for NitroMan to run over, rather than just freezing him directly. Many people wont admit this but MM1-3 are severely imbalanced and flawed games, whereas 4-6 were polished and tuned games that we were getting sick of at the time.

I should also add I found zero flaws with MM7 and MM8 despite being SNES and PS1 based games. Whatever emulation here, it works perfectly. Just follow a steam guide on getting pixel perfect scaling with ReShade. Capcom keeps goofing up when it comes to pixel accurate Megaman emulation. I suppose it's a shame they don't have the Sega Saturn MM8 exclusive content here.

Now I move onto Megaman Zero with the 6 arranged albums modded in. I am very hyped for that....

How all remasters of old PC games should be done. Really love the conveniences around playing the campaigns with coop enabled. I'll always prefer Q1 more than Q2 but this is a stellar job.

A slight thumbs up. 3rd pick of the 4 DLC campaigns. Just a well rounded cultist tale, but also super gay. What? You gonna report this review for pointing out how gay it is? Don't be a bigot. It's in the cover art.

Pretty solid campaign. The casino theme is utilized well. The Handsome Jack body double was alright. Moxxi of course is always welcome. Great music.

An absolute trip. It was neat to see what goes on in Krieg's head. Extremely colorful, trippy experience. Great music.

Thumbs down just for having the absolute worst excuse for "music" in the franchise. There will be hours here where it's just repeating the same string or other singular noise on an infinite loop. You'd almost swear the music is just bugged, but its intentional. It drove me insane. And thematically it doesn't even make sense. Imagine if the "Jaws" theme was just playing for no reason. Or some suspenseful horror movie noise. This is the wild west. This made no sense at all.

I still dont understand this game. Tried it again and just went with an old character. Game just slams me with like 3 FMVs and then locks me on a ship. I'm very sure this is not where I left off. Ok I make a new character. Seems like a familiar place. Then I start the game again today and it locks this character to the same annoying ship and assaults me with FMVs again. Why? I was perfectly fine where I was, almost getting my bearings.

Even ignoring the way some supposed new campaign just kidnaps you, my biggest issue with this game has always been how absolutely nothing has any context to anything else. I always figured this was because we didn't get Destiny 1 on PC so we just have no hope of understanding anything about this story. I have zero frame of reference for ANYTHING going on. Why am I supposed to care about anything here? Make me care. Don't get me wrong, Warframe also completely suffers the same problem. A story that feels like it was written by 37 people, each in an isolation cell, simultaneously. Even if this lore was all comprehensible and in perfect order, this universe is still suffering from that insane level of futuretech where there is no boundaries or limits to anything. Everyone and everything is just magic, There's nothing to be concerned about. They can write their ways out of anything. None of the tech needs to be explained. This might as well be Fornite. Teleporting and conjuring and flying and infinite ammo and omniscience and all matter clashing into all matter until we end up with some necro goddess space walking on nothingness with a smoke plume for a head where there should be no air. Nothing makes sense.

Ok fine, let's complete give up on ever caring about the story and just play the game. Well that's a novel idea, except that you get machine gunned with 50 jibberish menus and other unorthodox UI layouts. In Warframe, you see a solar system and just go to a planet. Here, its just a screen that is like a Rorschach splatter of every disjointed half baked campaign they slapped together at one point or another, Various sizes of buttons with not a clue as to what I am signing up for. Whats the proper order here? Whats the difficulty of each one? How long is each? It seems like some could be 10 minutes but some are 10 hours. I have no idea what I am about to be asked to do. Imagine if a Megaman stage select screen was like this.

OK OK OK, but it's just a fun FPS looter shooter, right? Well unfortunately they took the worst aspect of Borderlands and removed everything else. Yes the game FEELS good. It runs good. Thats a rarity these days. But your grind is all boiled down to a single number that's always going up. New guns drop, always with a slightly higher number than the last. That's it. That's the game. My 1632 gun is getting replaced by a 1635 gun. Oh boy. Don't need to think about anything else.

It's games like this that somehow dominate the charts and make me fear I'm the last sane person on Earth. I just assume this game was designed for zoomers and not me and I should just accept that.
