Early Access Review
potentially one of the most polished, challenging and unique games i've ever played, and definitely one of the best FPS games of all time. not perfect by any means but by god it is a MONSTER of a game, even if it's not completed. absolutely worth the full price tag

A nostalgic trip, this game is nothing but joy. It's simple yet insanely fun, with a hilarious cast that parodies classic action movies. It's not the most balanced game in the world, but it's one that you'll have the time of your life playing, with a surprisingly long campaign given the price.

Some of the most fun i've ever had in a PvE game. It's hilarious, sometimes intense, sometimes weird, but always fun and rarely frustrating (with the exception of a couple of heists).

Movement is smooth, animations are top notch, you get a ludicrous number of ludicrous weapons and the voice acting is awesome. The initial grind is really worth it (all you'll get later on are cosmetics), and so are most of the DLC's if you get the Legacy Edition. (Don't get them on their own, though)

The game is pretty much Hearthstone, except I actually like it. The board makes it way more unique and the art style is minimal but works amazingly well. For a mobile game, it's pretty top-notch, although it suffers from a lot of the same issues Hearthstone does when it comes to things like buying cards.

RED HOT VENGEANCE serves almost as Hotline Miami with a camera angled differently, and with a radically different style. That's not a complaint, however. The gameplay feels fun and incredibly smooth given the lack of need for the best graphics. The level editor is incredibly easy to use, and allows for a lot of unique creations (though not at the same level as the main game). As to the game itself, it's essentially Hotline Miami's gameplay combined with a John Wick plot on extra testosterone.

I do have some issues, however - I personally found that the level editor, though great to use, faced many crashing issues, and like I described earlier, the plot felt a little questionable, especially with a weird contrast of drawn art with the minimalist style of the rest of the game. I felt like its Hotline Miami inspiration also made me lose some respect in that the opening level similarly takes place in a train station.

While it's pretty short and to the point, the game is a really nice throwback to old ps1 days. it feels really fun and fluid. My only issue would be with how some of these levels are pure trial and error. No one's getting that raining-dark-alley level done first try, because you get swarmed, have to hit multiple people with very limited ammo and need to memorize where everyone is if you don't want to instantly get killed.

In a game like Hotline Miami, it works well, but it feels more exasperating in this scenario compared to the other levels, where it's possible to beat them first try.

For a mobile port it's actually pretty fun. Its downsides are more to do with the current mobile game formula, like some of the more p2w aspects and ad-watching. In terms of gameplay it's immensely grindy however, so don't go in looking for your standard fun pixel art dungeon crawler. The meta for progressing through tiers can get pretty repetitive and boring, but if you like pixel art and don't mind a little daily grind, it's a somewhat fun game.
