Online mode works mostly. It is a bit laggy which makes dodging hard, and people sometimes get disconnected.
Some much needed balance changes for weak items have been added.

Very tedious looting.
It's not fun clicking on 20 Bottle racks to find 19 of them empty. Almost every room is filled with this stuff.

- Didn't like interfacing items between left/right side storage compartments with controller. Especially for multiple items.

+ Everything else.

Casual fishing boat sim with upgrades, exploration and story with optional spooky elements.

Visually beautiful and runs very well on my computer even though it doesn't "meet minimum requirements".
The landscapes are pretty and enjoyable to roam.
The hunting minigame is fun, but doesn't compare to other hunting videogames.

The writing was enjoyable up to a point, when it took an awkward turn, and sucked away any enthusiasm I had for the game.
The mission writing is all over the place, and feels incoherent.

There is a rating system that gives you bronze, silver or gold medals after each story mission depending on your performance and actions. Your mission rating is based on a number of objectives, that are hidden from you before you start the mission. The objectives are sometimes non-sensical and requires you to do very specific things that you would not think of beforehand, so in effect it's a cheap way to force you replaying missions for completion. It also detracts from immersion, because a medal showing you how fast you rode your horse while listening to an emotional speech from a companion does not keep my mind in the story.

I would not recommend this game to anyone.

Strategic, turn-based, medieval, grim, low-fantasy mercenary band simulator.

The battles play similar to the X-COM games.

The overworld plays similar to the Mount & Blade games.

Brutally difficult, which makes battles intense.
Absolutely play on Ironman mode for the best experience, but start with beginner difficulty even if you are experienced with these type of games. Beginner difficulty is NOT easy! If you hate difficult games, then this is not for you.
Even with the game's simplistic graphics and turn based combat, every battle can turn into a frightening challenge.

Incredible atmosphere. Great music, art, sound effects and writing. I usually find writing in videogames a slog that subtracts from the gameplay, but every bit of writing in Battle Brothers is interesting.

The base game is enough on its own, I have not tried the priced DLC yet as of writing this review.

Hollow Knight is a three-way lovechild between the games Super Metroid, Dark Souls and Rogue Legacy.

From Super Metroid you have the defining characteristics of a Metroidvania: exploration, unlockable movement techniques and power-ups. Hollow Knight has an atmosphere similar to Dark Souls, where both story and lore are revealed through dialogue and exploring your environment. From Rogue Legacy you have the melee combat, with sword slashes in four cardinal directions as well as dashing, knockback and downslash-jumping on enemies.

Hollow Knight excels at what it does, and I recommend it with one caveat:
When comparing the difficulty to Dark Souls, Hollow Knight is quite easy early on in the game. But later on the difficulty ramps up quite a bit, and a few of the boss fights can be compared to Dark Souls at its hardest. If you don't mind a real challenge, then I think you'll appreciate Hollow Knight like I do.
